Stop me if I'm wrong, but aren't there phones out with the majority of these sensors already? Here in Japan I have seen them for years. What is innovative about this?
Yes, the galaxy s3 being one..

A lot of people don't realize that some devices already have a lot of these sensors already. The Xoom for example has a barometer and that came out prior to the iPad 2. The S3 has a barometer too.
As far as I'm aware temp, psychrometer and barometer in a smartphone is new. But I could be wrong obviously.
What's a psychrometer?
measures heat index as opposed to just temperature, and does so by the difference between two thermometers. It allows you tell humidity and air moisture content.
It also tells you if your approaching Bates Motel or have any chance of strange encounters in a shower...
Haha could be useful then. However I welcome such encounters..
When all fails..... Use the profit margin card.
US govt has almost completely dropped Blackberries from the inventory. You might want to stop looking at data from 2009. In fact, the very last Blackberry was turned in where I work just last month. Not a single RIM product left in any inventory. iPhone have replaced the Blackberries in this particular instance, simply because they are being used as regular phones with no alterations in hardware or software required. Android phones are used in those cases.
And the government and military use both Android and iOS. Anything requiring modification to software are automatically given to an Android vendor, because Apple refuses to give the government access to the base code.
You are way out of your element discussing what the US gov't uses.
I happen to know that the US department of defence ordered 1 million Blackberry Z10s.

Has nothing to do with you. I don't care what you use. You posting made up, contradictory and opinion based comments as facts is what bothers me.
And I don't want to see Apple fail. I want to see them adjust their snobby attitude and start innovating again, not give us the same repackaged crap year after year and claim its new and amazing. The iPhone 3gs, iPhone 4s and soon to be 5s are exactly what I am referring to.
1 MILLION?!?!
Do you have any reliable source for that because that sounds like BS. Why would they order 1 million for a lot of 3-3.5 million? 750k are civilians and 1.1 are in reserves. Around 1.5 active duty military and they gave 1 million brand new phones?
Never mind the 300-500 MILLION dollar price tag with that at a discount.

A couple of weeks ago, Blackberry announced that a mystery partner had purchased 1 million of its Blackberry Z10 devices. It wouldnt say who the partner was, but that it was a huge confidence boost for both the company and consumers alike. The announcement was enough to boost its shares up 8.2%. While it was speculated that the mysterious partner had to be a major carrier like AT&T or Verizon Wireless, it turns out that the partner was actually a wireless distributor by the name of Brightstar.
Brightstar is a big, wireless distributor that distributes products all around the world. About 40% of its revenue was composed of Blackberry handset sales a couple of years ago. Brightstar had enough confidence in Blackberrys new product in order to place such a massive order, and since it operates globally, it has a better chance, than AT&T and Verizon Wireless, to resell all of its Blackberry Z10 devices.
Brightstar also acts as a buffer for companies like Verizon Wireless. Mark Gerber, managing director at Detwiler Fenton, a Research House, stated that Verizon is using Brightstar to handle the big-box retail and dealer agent channels for the Blackberry Z10. Gerber believes that Verizon Wireless doesnt have enough faith in the Blackberry Z10, otherwise it would sell the product on its own.
Operating through a 3rd party is Verizons safety net if the Z10 doesnt do well on its network.
No it doesn't, how does a carrier change anything?

Well if Apple and RIM haven't (They have) then Samsung hasn't at all! Btw I wonder why if Apple and BB are no good does the US government use BlackBerry Z10 and iOS devices and not android?

Thank-you! Very true! Yes I agree, I like the HTC way better than that Samsung junk
