You should rethink that statement. Maybe when you get even older...

I used to pay $180 per month for mine and my wife's iPhones on AT&T. Now I'm off contract and pay $98 for both each month (on straight talk so I'm still using AT&T network).
By the time a year is up I would have saved just short of $1,000. Which can get one or both of us new phones ... each year (if I wanted). So stick with that two year contract and extortionate service.

But at least you aren't paying full retail ;)

Maybe for you but most of us enjoy using the LTE feature on our phones. I've been with AT&T for over 15 years, it would be stupid of me to start paying full retail now.

Why would anyone stay on a carrier that won't give you a deal when buying a new phone for full retail price ? Verizon, LOL biggest nazi carrier around, they are all about them #1, and ***** their customers #2. Locked down phones, Verizon stickers plastered all over the devices, super crazy outrageously high pricing, and over hyped service. And lastly they are CDMA, screw CDMA, GSM is the way to go.

So if on Verizon, and I tell them I want to buy a brand new Note 2 for the full $649 vs. the contract price of $299, will my monthly bill / payment be any different ? The answer is no. Right there, I say goodbye, screw you idiots.

The whole reason to buy a phone full price, is so you get a lower deal on your monthly bill, or even better, so you can use Pre-Paid deals like Straight Talk, or T-Mobile's "Go Smart" and have no contract, and an even lower bill.

I was on Verizon for two years, their 3G service blew, and the 4G/LTE was very fast, but of no use to me really, I don't need 50mb/Sec download speeds on a cellphone. Out in the sticks and camping Verizon was terrible service all over different camp grounds, in different states.

Straight Talk AT&T has given me faster 3G service, better network coverage than Verizon, areas where Verizon had no service, I get 2 bars with Straight Talk. I have no contract, and my bill was cut down by an amazing amount lower.

Crazy high bill of$270/Month on Verizon for two phones vs. $90/Month on Straight Talk AT&T, and honestly, I can not even tell a difference in service, except download speeds are slower, but i am on WiFi mostly, so I don't care, other than that, I see now difference, except a much much cheaper monthly bill, and not tied down to some silly 2 yr contract, which is outdated way of doing phone plans.

Agreed, Verizon's 3G was spotty in the past. Their LTE is vastly superior and their overall coverage outshines Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mo in my area. I'll gladly take the premium fee for their service.
