I got the phone today and it had 57% battery out of the box. Well, it went down to 25% in under 20 minutes setting up the phone over wifi.

I'm gonna test drive for a couple of days but things are looking way worse than I expected on the battery side of things...

Give it some time and make sure you update the Samsung Push services in the Play Store. I keep hearing mixed reviews regarding battery life. I had the device for a couple of days and return it to go back to my 6+ because battery life wasnt looking too good.

Everything is updated already. I'll give it a thorough testing tomorrow (HERE Maps included), but I´m almost sure that by 8pm (from 6 am) it's going to be pretty much dry.

Yeah I REALLY liked the device but doesnt matter how good a device is if the battery cant last.

We are getting closer to the 14 day return period for those who got it on release day.

If you are going to return it, I'm curious as to why.

I already did a return.

Got the 32gb, liked the S6 so much that I returned it and got the 64gb.

I'm sticking with it.

For people having battery issues. I would say make sure to drain the battery all the way to zero and then to 100 %. Batteries need conditioning.

I think a week is good for an indicator of battery life.

I've read this isn't necessary anymore. No?

I'm really on the fence about this device.

I really enjoy the screen and the camera (both these things are SUPERB. Just stunning in their respective parts). Call quality and GPS are stellar. Design and build feel good. Like the speakers, the bottom facing headphone jack.

But TouchWiz bothers me still despite apparently having come a very long way. Today, I used my OnePlus and the software difference is night and day. OnePlus FLIES compared to TouchWiz. Things are responsive, smooth, load right away seamlessly. The keyboard is EXCELLENT both in typing and backspacing.

I cannot say the same about any of those things I just listed for TouchWiz. I don't need something to be lag-free because I believe nothing is lag-free; every OS on every phone lag here and there on occasion to some degree, but TW hangs way too commonly. This may be due to the software's RAM management and not necessarily a fault of the skin/OS, but whatever the heck it is, it's not a seamless experience. Far from it. Often, when typing, the keyboard will hang and as it's catching up goes haywire.

Sigh... What to do. I want to really love this device.

I thought you already returned the device? I know we were going through similar things with haggling whether to keep the device or not. If you returned it, what device would you be going back to?

What about gettin a mophie juice pack cover? That's pretty much what both companies (Apple and Samsung) want from us, not only paying for an expensive device but also a battery backup and a screen protector sigh...

As a matter of fact you should never drain a lithium battery to 0, unless you want to damage it a little each time.

Have you tried a different launcher?

Have you tried a different launcher?

Yeah, the Google Now Launcher. I don't think it's a launcher issue. And it certainly wouldn't affect/fix the keyboard slowdowns.

Go back to my OnePlus until the next potential device comes along. I would love to go back to a smaller and more maneable screen size, like maybe the Xperia Z3, but I'm reading some horror stories about its cameras. And I'm sick of poor cameras on Android devices. I really don't get why only Samsung and Apple know how to process images.

You don't have to give up on the S6, just the one you have. I think you will be sorry if you don't.

I was under the impression it's good to drain it completely every few months; helps with prolonging battery life.

Now one thing I havent really heard reports of was a lag on the S6.....Most complaints are only about battery life.
Yep I haven't suffered any serious lag on mine + the two issues I have remain, battery life hasn't been stellar and still get app refreshes due to memory management (very noticeable compared to my Nexus 6 & Moto X 2014). However it thankfully is a super fast device so the apps refresh quickly, but the likes of Tapatalk lose their position when refreshed and it causes frustration.

for me I haven't experienced any lag on my S6e. The battery lasts all day for me and my usage. It is easily the fastest phone I have used.

Its like i want to try it again. May go with the 64GB version of it but its $846 w/tax! If I like it I would of course be selling my 6+ so I can get some of the money back....decisions.....then im torn about getting a Nexus 6 because I miss the rooting community.

Tmobile is pretty cool with warranty so they'll send me a new one later this week. I guess we'll see If I really had a defect.

epicrayban's struggle of to keep or not reminded me of this scene from Curb Your Enthusiasm

Good luck, but I don't think you had a defective unit, I have the same keyboard lag you describe across 2 devices (my original 32gb S6 and my new 64gb S6) Weird thing is, I don't see that keyboard lag on my Note 4.
