Is there a way to check when a Galaxy S6 phone was first activated? Like you can check with an iPhone with his IMEI.

Got a decent offer on a used one, so I just want to make sure if the person who is offering it to me is telling the truth.

Thanks.

Run the imei on swappa.com?

Just running the IMEI on swappa just shows weather it's been black listed or not, nothing regarding activation date, etc.

The imei check isnt the end all anyway, someone could report a phone lost/stolen or stop making payments after it is sold

Yeah, battery life does seem better. Sweet job, Tmobile.

Battery life has definitely improved. I used around 3 hours of on-screen time on max brightness. Was also connected to my smartwatch the whole time, and streaming music during my entire 8 hour drive. Also didn't use any power saving modes or apps. I say for a 2550mAh battery, that's pretty damn good on smartphone of this caliber. And I probably still had an extra 30min to an hour of max brightness on-screen time.

If I didn't use max brightness and turn on the power saving mode, I might be looking at another 6-8 hours of usage. I was also driving out of state, so there were times when bad signal might have drained battery quicker.

I'll believe it when I see it, but cool: http://www.engadget.com/2015/08/05/samsung-montly-android-security-fixes/

Samsung 'fast tracks' Android security fixes with monthly updates

Agreed, just posted the same thing over in the Nexus thread after first seeing Google make this commitment for all Nexus devices for up to 3 years and then finding Samsung make the same commitment.

Really should be a no brainier for all OEMs and hopefully this pushes them all to make the same commitment.

yep.....All OEMs should do this. They should bypass the carriers and update their product.

Well, according to the article, they're not bypassing the carriers but rather working with them. But carriers should be just as accountable, else risk alienating customers who consider their products too high risk.

Battery life is really good nowadays. I'm not getting as good as the 6+, but still really good. No need to bring the battery pack when I use it.

Yeah, I feel the improvements.

Also, can't stress enough how awesome quick charge and wireless charging are. Quick charge has saved me a number of times. Most recently, I forgot to charge my phone overnight and woke up with 47% (not bad from a day's use btw). It takes me about 40 mins to get ready and leave the house for work. In that time, I was able to charge it up to 100% (and who knows when it actually hit 100. I just unplugged when I was walking out). It was great.

Same with wireless charging -- it's just such a convenient feature. I've said this before, it's not so much about the lack of needing to plug in a cable (though that is nice); it's more about your device constantly being topped off/refilled anytime you set your phone down throughout the day. It's really a shame there are detractors of wireless charging. It should be standard on all devices moving forward. I really can't wait for the day Apple does it and people finally understand.

The S6 is truly a great device. The only one knock I have against it is the home screen refreshing every few days. It's something I just don't get. A lot of people say they don't have the issue. Really a mystery.

What kind of screen on time are you getting overall ? I get 3hrs SOT average and 3.5 hrs SOT tops on mine over the course of a full day. I haven't been able to get over 4 at all on two different Edges.

I also have power saver mode on at all times, if that makes any difference.

Haven't tried it but shouldn't have to do that to last a day

It's a QHD device with a power hungry (and too powerful, really) processor. I know we shouldn't have to do these things, but we must. On the upside, it doesn't interfere with my use case.

Here's a little update on my phone.I shut off most of Google's background services and I managed to get 3 hours on screen time and still at 70%

Edit 3 hours at 50% it was 2 hours at 70% and this is with no power saving

Just a few Google services shut down
