I'm hoping the Surface phone line has a Note inbuilt stylus clone...

The Note 7 was truely awsome, prior to The Incident.

Yeah, I keep hoping that rumors of an iPhone Pro are true and that it comes with a mini Apple Pencil built in and a 6" screen with multi-window support, that would be my dream phone. But for sure that's never going to happen.

How did this thread work out in the end, then?
It would be extra funny if the Note 7 actually ends up being released again as a refurb, then of course becoming a hipster collector's item... ;) And then Sammy release a mind blowing Note 8 too, all while the S8 continues to be a massive success...

I think both will be hugely successful for them.....

If the S8 is released in 10 days and has the same note 7 problems, how in trouble would Samsung be? I know this won't happen but it's fun to play what if. How many thought the Notes would continue to be defective after the initial recall?

I think a second time would be devastating.

Some will catch fire in the wild just because that's simply what can happen with smartphones, but beyond that, if Samsung has another widespread problem that results in another recall, well... I myself will walk away from Samsung. There is no excuses for this to happen a second time with back to back flagship releases.

Luckily, as you said, this is highly unlikely to happen. Now, Samsung has the industry leading battery QC-ing process. If you read the details about their new 8 step program, it's actually pretty insane (again, my point in the other thread: I know of no other OEM that tries this hard to learn and improve as well as Samsung does.)

But we'll see. Anything can happen!

Compared what happens at the end of the S7 Edge video vs the S8 video. I don't think there is any worries.
