if I get a touch this is first on my wishlist. I've owned the desktop version for two years now and love it.

I've had it for 1 day and it's already worth the money. Get it this week while it's 50% off ($4.99)

I have to say I was really hesitant about this game ever since it was released. I kept hearing great reviews, but the $10 price tag threw me off. Not that I wouldn't pay that much for a really excellent game, but this just seemed too simple and basic for that much money. It felt like something I would get really bored of too quickly.

Boy was I wrong.

I haven't been able to put this down since downloading it (at the $5 price, but had I known I would have happily bought it at $10). It started off a little slow and easy -- but the more you progress, the more exciting and challenging it becomes. I love all the levels and variations, and I love how every game is just a few minutes. This has replaced Trism, Papijump, Solitaire, and every other game I used to play in the subway on my way to work. I love it!!!

Tips

Any chance on a few tips for this? I know that might sound silly as it is clearly a really simple idea to the game but i don't seem to be able to get past the 5th level.
Should i be looking to take over the larger planets first, or the smaller ones, or as many planets as i can, or the other players planets, or what???

I have never really played a game like this before so am a little confused.

I can win the lower levels pretty easy, just by tapping quickly :) but clearly there must be some techniques to the higher level and i keep losing way too fast to even begin to work out where i am going wrong! :)

Take over larger planets first (since they will build ships for you faster) and also ones that have a low number of ships on it since you won't lose as many ships to take over them.

Also, try playing online against others so you can see their strategies.

Thanks for the heads up on the proce drop. At $5 I'll snag it tonight when I get home. At $10 I was waiting until I was going to out of town or something where I knew I'd need a game to help pass time...

Don't start playing and leave the game alone while you do something :) look what happends.

I started playing me vs the computer, I was almost winning when my boss ask me to do something for him and I left the phone at my desk whithout closing the game, just check my FLEET NUMBERS, the poor computer is shooting only at one planet and was unable to take over, almost 30min pass until I noticed this.

Here is a screenshot of the actual screen

Here I took over to one of his planets

Here I'm waiting 30min more to get to 100,000 fleets to take over his planet :D

Here's some quick MSPaint from work ;)

Sorry is not a photoshop if that what are you saying, just tried and you will see for yourself take over almost all the planets, and the computer will only shoot and one planet , send some fleet to that planet and wait, all the other planets you have will raise their fleet.

I reached 112,000+ fleets in 107 minute game doing that

I went to buy this game and saw the above mentioned demo version, so figured I'd try it out. Fun stuff, but I'm unsure what the difference between the demo and the pay version? Is it just the online play or is there more?

Those were the best 5 bucks I have ever spend. This game is addictive.

I can beat Grand Admiral pretty regularly so I went online and I am winning every other game, I can't stop playing this thing. Too bad the net ranks update so slowly.

I am curious about this also. I have a touch, not an iPhone, so I don't really need multiplayer. Does the game work on a touch? And if so, is the free version the whole single player experience?

Classic - Normal game, you fight 1 computer player. The harder levels hide the enemy's numbers from you.

Stealth - Same as classic but you can't see the enemy ships. You only know where they are when planets start being attacked.

Vacuum - No enemy, just a timer. You must conquer all planets before the clock runs out.

Beast - You face an enemy who already owns multiple planets. It gives you a few seconds before it starts to swarm you. Very easy on the easy levels, INSANELY hard on the hardest levels.

3-Way - Just like Classic mode, but you face 2 different computer players at the same time. (They attack each other too, it really is 1 on 1 on 1.)

Net Game - Play online with 2, 3, or 4 players at one time.
