FYI

Bugs in iPadOS 27. Mainly related to apps misbehaving/parts stop working until a reboot happens once or twice fast here is summary of issues I have reported to feedback

  1. Photos taken by 17 Pro Max (iOS 26.5.1) are blurry when opening
  2. Entire Photos library blurry today until reboot
  3. iMessages lock up for selecting new threads
  4. Photos deleted from photo keep coming back after a full delete and more (Seems to have stopped)
  5. Device Monitor app crashes after a time of using other apps on ipa
  6. A number of apps mostly third party start having issues, but feedback, messsages, also have similar issues
  7. Once apps start misbehaving attaching photos to Feedback, messages, fails (no images show when selecting photos album for attachment)
  8. Also when apps start failing then screen shots saved to photos also fails
Sorry you’re experiencing those bugs. I haven’t had any of those issues, and can’t replicate them, so I can’t really help with any suggestions aside maybe try a clean reinstall.

Officially full… again.

Hopefully apple changes their ways with Siri AI by September. I’d need 75-80gb of storage for base iPadOS plus a few apps, cookies, cache, etc at this point.

Anyone else still Indexing well over a week in? Still there for me... and this is on a 128GB mini A17 which has maybe... 60-70GB of actual data on it. I would have thought that with so little on the device that it would be easily done by now.

I updated my ipad M4 2 weeks ago to Ipad 27 and it is still indexing. Are others still the same?

My iPad M4 took almost a week and I had it plugged in most of the time (screen off in the evenings) which groupthink says improves the indexing time. My guess is it has less to do with how much space you use on the device and more about how much iCloud space you use (a lot in my case) and how complicated the data you store is for the new index.

A great deal of my storage space is taken up by photos and audio. I can't confirm yet (still waiting on New Siri) but it appears that the vectorized indexing also generates new metadata/keywording for those types of files to improve local search/AI. Perhaps that is your hold up too?

My 11" M5 iPad took about that long, my 13" M5 iPad took about a week and my iPhone is still not done indexing and I installed the developer beta on the first day!
there was known issue in beta 1 since day 1 that it might get stuck in indexing. todays build should fix it since apple said that its fixed in next build..

Does iPadOS 27 still have the same padded left sidebar as seen on iPadOS 26 and macOS 26? Few examples are the photos app or the files app on iPadOS 26…

Can anyone share a screenshot of how does the left sidebar look in the latest iPadOS beta? Thank you.

Simplest case: listen to music while surfing the web and open a page with an embedded video that starts playing and your music stops.
Ah ok.

Stream music from your iPhone instead? IDK...... just a thought. Not saying that rudely at all. Just genuinely didn't understand & trying to give ideas. 😎

Speaking of audio;
One of my absolute biggest complaints with the steaming pile of crap that is iOS 26; have you or anyone else had audio cracling / static & completely cut out on iOS 26?

Specifically for a split second before an alarm / alert / reminder is going to fire, and while the alarm / alert is chiming; it totally hijacks & cuts off phone audio.

Doesn't matter if I'm on cell, teams, meet, zoom; it's 100% iOS 26 (not to mention this awful behavior started the day I upgraded to 26....)

Just curious. I know taht's a separate thread. Really can't wait for 27 public beta......

Have you run the 27 beta on a phone, or only iPad?
I don't think I'm brave enough to install the public beta on my primary, working iPhone, but I'll definitely install it on my M1 iPad that was totally mangled by iOS 26.

Other than listed above; how's 27 compared to 26?
Performance, battery life, etc?

Is the date/time still assigned to the upper-left corner, as opposed to the upper-right corner in MacOS (desktop AND laptop)?
I'm a simple man with simple desires, but this one bugs the **** out of me.

A bit more complicated use case is trying to use a music application (like a guitar amp simulator) while playing along to a song playing on a different app. I'd love to be able to grab my ipad and walk into a different room from my office and just play. Instead I am chained to my Mac.

I’m on beta 2 and with the glass slider set to more tinted, so all the right to the right I’m seeing full clear glass in safari.

It does not change even when I change the slider fully to the left.

Don’t remember seeing this in beta 1.

Anyone else get this issue.

I have only run it on my M4 13 inch iPad. Not gonna test on my 17 PM which I love and want to keep for a few years The first day of beta 2 not wonkiness with memory use but it started today was up to 98 percent and my Offcie 365 word would not open til I rebooted so this problem persists at least with this software it gets weird sometimes with Safari and this site also — hangs for awhile before loading forums and such and I have found a reboot is needed. So I seem to be in this daily memory issue. Again not a killer just minor annoyance.

I wish mine looked like this. This is how it’s supposed to look, according to WWDC.

Mine are completely opaque - zero transparency whatsoever.

Oh ok, well I don’t want the transparency hence adjusting the slider to tinted, but as I say I can’t remember beta 1 doing this at all, I think it should only look like this when the slider is set to more transparent, but I might be wrong though.

I know, but we are on the iPadOS 27 forum, right?

I’ll ask again: Does iPadOS 27 still have the same padded left sidebar as seen on iPadOS 26 and macOS 26?

If anyone can share a screenshot to see how the Files App or the Photos app look in the latest iPadOS 27 beta…
These are screenshots from iPadOS 27. I hope that answers your question. I’ve been really busy the past couple days, I remember seeing you ask, but forgot to follow up. 🙂👍🏻
