I also got the code but debating whether to upgrade my 10.5 Pro which still runs good except for the aging battery. I could just change the battery for $99 but I don’t want to waste such a good code.
That's exactly the situation I was in. I had a perfectly good 10.5 Pro, but with an aging battery. I got a $280 gift card for it from Phobio.

I sold my 10.5 pro yesterday for $300. Will use it towards the 12.9 iPad at Costco. I think 3 years is a good timeframe to upgrade before the value lowers or it stops working.

It's amazing some people will pay that much for old iPads :)

I traded my 10.5” 256G to Apple Store yesterday for $280. The whole process is very easy and took about 5 minutes. Employee complimented it’s in such good condition and offered the same price as Apple’s online trade in by Phobio. Given recent report of complaints on phobio’s Mac trade in, I was glad I can do it in store. I ordered 11” from Costco with the $100 code when I got back into my car.

It is interesting, but I suspect that most people see a three or four-year-old iPad as a smart buy. If you do the typical iPad stuff (really, that’s all I do on mine—web browsing, email, etc.), I doubt that a person will see that much difference between a 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 and a 2021 iPad Pro 11.

Although for those folks, a new regular iPad may serve them well.

Damn, you’re right. They’re offering $280 for my 10.5” 64GB model. Until now, I thought Best Buy offered the most at $200. I bought the unit 3.5 years ago for like $450 on sale so this is awesome. Thanks!

Uh oh, I already placed the iPad order without AppleCare+.

Hmm, not sure if I can add AppleCare+ from Costco at this point…

Oh well.
You won't need to if you used your Citi card.

Costco Concierge warranty will cover the first 2 years and then afterwards your Costco Citibank Visa will cover the next 2 years.

Total 4 years coverage - better than AppleCare!

Thanks for letting us know how to get the $100 code - I only received a $50 code.

I wonder if I should turn in my 12.9 2017 iPad Pro or not.

Will get $355, its the base wifi model with spotlighting. Whether or not that flies, idk, but could try in person. No way I'd mail it into Phobio period, but especially in an in between state. Cost me $700 in 2017.

Then again, if I do go 11" and stick with it, maybe this will still be good to hold onto... decisions.

Beats paying 2k for just an iPad. People are insane around here lol.

They have that on tablets?
Tablets are excluded from Costco's extended warranty per terms, but you still get 2 yr Citi so 3 yr total.

Plenty of people buying brand new Lexus, BMW, Tesla, etc. where 1-year depreciation probably buys you the full gamut of Apple mobile devices and nobody calls them insane. ?‍♀️
Or a Lambo SUV like my boss, haha.

Im also a costco member(I have the costco citi visa card as well) as well as the 100 dollars off coupon code applied to my account..what I like about costco is that you have 3 months(90 days) to return if there is an issue..apple only gives you 15 days..I need to trade in my 11 inch 2018 ipad pro I figure if I buy from costco I can just trade in my ipad to apple once the macbook pro 14 inch comes out and use the trade in gift card on that..but for those who have purchased ipads from costco before, was it just like buying it from best buy, apple store, etc..any issues? I had issued previously when I purchased an ipad from target, bought in store, both were defective..so dont want any issues with costco..wish the coupon code was maybe 250 off of 1000 now that would be a nice incentive to buy

I took my 10.5” Pro to the store with 2 white spots and in the bright light they didn’t even see it. Phobio itself is going to be a lot pickier and go over your iPad with a fine tooth comb. I got the full $300 at the time.

In hindsight, had I known the value would have only dropped another $20 I probably would have kept it until the new iPad was actually announced. I’ve been using an Air 2 since then and while it’s not bad, it’s certainly no A10X lol.
