Yep. At the high OOW repair cost, one can be quite torn between warranty replacement with 90-day warranty or just upgrade to a new device with full warranty. Worse yet is if the device breaks shortly before keynote but longer than the return period.

Another consideration for me, that $699 is subject to sales tax in my area so it's more like $770.
Don’t forget that as of the 2020 iPad release, one can extend AppleCare+ beyond the previous 2 year limit. It becomes a monthly charge, and you get another 2 incidents for the second set of 2 years.

Actually, I do believe monthly AC+ was introduced sometime in 2019. I got that for the Air 3 ($3.49/mo) since my mom won't give up the home button. Mind, I do believe they give you 2 accidental damage incidents every 12 month period now.

Same here. 11-inch 256 GB WiFi. 3-day select arriving May 26.
