Getting O2 Pay&Go data working on your unlocked iPhone: A step by step guide

Also I'm assuming that if according to O2 (as some people have suggested) Egde does work on O2 pay and go then those of us who aren't getting the correct speeds may be using the wrong apns settings. I'm not very convinced that that's what's wrong but I can't think what else it could be.

Where in the O2_UK.plist do you enter this coding????

o2_uk.plist file with allow edge code in.

edge dosn't work on o2 pag so its not going to make any diffrence,but if you have a sim for a different network with turbosim you will have access to enter settings for the other nework

If you cannot see the EDGE menu, you will need to put in a sim card from a DIFFERENT network to make the menu appear. You may then put in the settings and then put back in your usual sim.

Step 1: Go to settings >> general >> Network >> EDGE and enter the APN, Username and Password settings for your provider
apn = payandgo.o2.co.uk
user = payandgo
password= password

hey, I'm on O2 pay and go (1.1.3) and i've tried the above but I'm still getting the message "could not activate EDGE: you are not subscribed to edge"

This is when i'm trying to connect when the square is solid with no E in it.

any help appreciated
 
I sFTP into my phone but none of the directories in the text file exist.

I have -

.DS_Store - file
.svn - diretory
Library - directory
Media - directory
root.zip - file
youtube.zip - file

Any ideas ?

Hi

I have a 1.14 unlocked Iphone using Ziphone with an O2 PAYG Sim.

I have downloaded the 1.1.2 files and now EDGE setting appears, I can only access the o2.co.uk website under Safari however, if I go anywhere else I recieve the message that Safari can't opne the page because the network connection was lost.

Is this because I haven't brought the £7.50 bolt on or how I screwed uo copying the files?

Please help

Hi,rirawin, i use to have an o2 PAYG sim and had so much problem getting the EDGE to work...

To be honest, I haven't got a clue how to help you but I suggest that you switch to T-Mobile PAYG sim which offers GBP1.00 per day for unlimited surfing on ur iphone. That's what I do.. and this is just a suggestion for you.
 
Same here. www.o2.co.uk website opens fine but any others I get error saying "Connection was lost".

Anyone have any ideas?

I've tried a Vodafone payandgo and it works fine.
 
I Have Problems With My Apple Iphone, Brought It Off Ebay And I Can Not Get The Edge To Work It Has Been Jail Breaker Which Dont Know Anything About This Phone But When Im Out And About I Can Pick Up Wifi. Took It To The Shop And It Said That It Will Never Work Again. I Want To Keep The Same Network I Always Been On Which Is Orange
Can Anyone Help Me
