White icons

Always loved glasklart so couldn't wait to stick it on my 4s... Going quite well so far, except the stock photos app, and the jailbreak app 'Pirni' both have solid white icons... Any ideas ?

I do like the clear look but so far I have this more opaque look instead.

I copied these two files into the Glasklart HD Folders theme inside stash/var

Thank you! Flixster was super easy to do. When I tried the same for the music icon it didn't work. I did it through iFile. I also downloaded Appinfo and tried to change it through the link. It turned the icon solid white. I tried to reboot after and it's still solid white. Any idea on what's going on?

Also, when I find the name of the folder through appinfo, how do I know what to change the file name to?

Thanks!!

The icon name is displayed by Appinfo too. The retina displays use the name with @2x suffix. Use the SBsettings respring instead of winterboard. Never fails me when I get white icons that used to work. Hope that helps

I did try SBsettings at first to respring. When that didn't work I tried to force shut down and reboot and winterboard. Still didn't work. Usually respringing through SB settings does the job

Thanks for the appinfo info. I looked into other icons and did see the icon name :)

I think I do remember doing something different with the Music icon. use the name icon@2x.png instead and put it in the folder I mentioned above

Sigh..still doesn't work! I tried everything you suggested plus more. I even tried removing the theme from winterboard and it the music icon still remained clear plus it no longer opens when i click on it. Do you think I should restore my phone and start all over again? I really want to avoid that bc it took me so long to get this far already.

In appinfo, I noticed in all the 'system' icons show the folder name where I can locate the folder but then there isn't a 'icon' name to rename the icon.

And what if I see all the info in appinfo but when I go to iFile to search for the folder, it's not there?

Sorry for all the questions!! I'm new to all of this! Thank you!! :):):):)

If the icon is still missing after removing the theme then it's not a theme problem

Try respringing with SBsettings.

To change the folder icons

go to /private/var/stash/Themes/Glasklart HD Folders/Bundles/com.apple.springboard

and paste this icon using the name

FolderIconBG@2x~iphone.png.

Disable theme and then enable before respringing.

YESSSSS!! So, I finally broke down and decided to restore my iphone and start all over again and it worked! I successfully got the music icon to work. :D:D thank for all your help!!

With the folder icon name you gave me..am I supposed to download the icon or something? bc it doesn't open when I click on the link. I'm not sure if it's supposed to or not..Thanks for being so patient. I know I must be a pain with all these questions

Hey thanks for the post, but was wondering if you could lead me in the right direction in adding a widget to my lockscreen.

I downloaded the typophone 4 theme onto my computer and have been successful in changing the background only, but any further steps and customisation ive got no clue at all.

Any useful guides anywhere? Google doesnt seem to find me any relevant or ios5 friendly walkthroughs

Ps. just jailbroke my 4s yesterday

Thanks in advance

I installed Glasklart HD on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 running 5.0.1. I downloaded a updated bundle with a bunch of icons from MacThemes. While it worked great on my iPhone (majority of my icons are now themed), most of my iPad 2 icons are still stock.

Is it something where I need to go in and change icon names on the iPad 2 or are most of the icons only themed for the iPhone?

Yes you do. The icon resolution is different on the iPad then it is for the iPhone, so you need to change the file names. Find the Info.plist file for each app to locate the file name.

Thanks. That is good to know. Isn't also a matter of resizing those icons to match the iPad resolution?

You know how to use cyberduck or winscp? you need to ssh into your theme folder to save the file I gave you in that folder

Hey guys,

I still cannot get the Mail app to change. I went to com.apple.mobilemail and changed the name of the png to icon@2x.png. Nothing changes. It worked for the music app icon, but I cannot seem to get it for mail.

Hi, what did you change your folder name to get rid of black icons? I've been having trouble with my ipad 2 for some reason. It worked perfectly with my iphone..Thanks!

I meant to mention this as well as I am having the same problem as you. I tried to follow the OP's instructions, but I do not have AppIconMask-72.png in the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileIcons.framework directory, only one named AppIconMask~ipad. I renamed it anyway but still have some of icons with a black background. Anyone have some ideas on how to correct it?

Yep, non-retina iPhones are 57x57, iPad is 72x72 and retina iPhones are 114x114

What is a good program (Windows) that can resize the icons?
