Been an android user since the HTC incredible.. always "worked".. fell in love with android when verizon allowed the Nexus on their network. Somehow even though that phone was in the cell slot of my padded dakine bag it broke while taking a spill off my bike last summer.

Verizon said no more nexus and sent me a brand new S3. Which was meh.. Nice big screen, good battery but hate Touch Wiz. Ending up trading that straight up for an Iphone5.

At first I Hated the iphone. But it has grown on me, love the battery life.. fast charge and sync capability with my MBP. I still Dislike the small screen and lack of it being open like android.

Trading this iphone5 for an S4 today. Who wants to bet ill miss the i5 and come back when the 5s/ios7 is released?

If you hate the small screen and lack of openness, the 5S and iOS 7 aren't going to help.

I would take an S3 over an i5 but if you hate TW why go right back to it? You should at least put a launcher on it or a rom

Since you did not like the SGS3 much, I don't think you will like the S4 that much better. Why did you decide to make the trade if you did not like the S3? The S4 is rather similar to the S3. Was there no other option for you at the time like the One? If you like the Nexus, there is a Google edition S4. Not sure if it is available for your carrier.

It's not going to help with either one of those...

OP just wait for the Google edition of the S4 or root your S4 and install CyanogenMod. I have and it works great for the most part.

once you actually use android features and get used to the openness, you will likely hate ios and windows phones.

of course android phone users that only call and text, they wont feel much different when they switch from android to other platforms. it's only power/advanced users that love control and tweaking , they will find ios and wp restrictions offensive.

I switched from an iPhone 4s to the HTC One without really using Android, and I think it is great. The battery life is better. The screen is better. The audio quality is actually very good, on par with my iPhone. The camera is just OK, but I don't take a lot of pictures with my phone so it doesn't bother me.

In my opinion, if you hated touchwiz, don't get another Samsung unless you plan on installing a ROM. I went with the HTC because Sense 5.0 is actually really nice. Alternatively, I can just install CM10.x(or the the Google Edition version of the ROM when it is available) and be done with it.

Well.. have a mint like new white verizon s4 in my possession now. Is it weird i smiled when we swapped phones? The screen is huge! and the phone is white haha.

The way I see it is.. When the 5S comes out the S4 will be more desirable then the I5, plus I would like a white iphone in the future so this set me up for that.

Anyway! I am not bias to android or IOS but my statements still stand.. Touchwiz looks like crap. The colors clash and there is no uniform fallowed other then bright flash. I have always owned android and being the I5 was my first apple phone a number of things stand out as i knew they would.

S4 hardware flaws.. when compaired to Iphone
-Phone (androids) get HOT when doing anything on them
-"cheap" usb connection when compared to the lightning connector
-Takes for ever to charge

Believe it or not the plastic/composite body feels great.

Personal opinion, TW sucks & will be unlocking this phone an flashing an AOSP rom tomorrow (liquidsmooth).

AOSP on the s4 will certainly hold me over until the Iphone5s is released. At that time I will be faced with choosing a big screen open phone or a smaller screen that syncs with my computer (music, pod casts, iphoto, contacts.. man the list goes on..) I did not have to do this trade but figured what better time to decide which phone system works best for me..

It's seriously a damn shame people are forced to make a decision between iOS and a larger screen.

If Apple offered up a larger iPhone, it would eliminate that difficult decision for so many people.

You give people that choice in every single one of your other lineups with a screen; why not the iPhone, too, Apple? It's time. It's really really time.

I did the same thing as you did, and sold my Ip5 in one day. You will not come back for the IP5s. If Apple rolls out a new Iphone 6 with a large screen and more bells and whistles in LATE 2014, I'll look at it, but right now I am very happy with the S4.

Based on leaks I'm seeing a larger iPhone screen is at least 12+ months out. All of the leaked photos I'm showing of the next iPhone are the exact same size of the 5, not that I'm surprised.

Nor I.

2014... maybe.

although by that time, smaller may be back. Every time I hold a smaller phone, I love the form factor. Granted I would never want to do serious browsing on it. These larger phones allow me to use a phone a lot like a tablet...especially the note line.

If Samsung is smart, they will introduce those screens(from prototype videos) that flex or curved to the side around the same iPhone catches up in screen size.

Apple would be foolish to release just a larger iPhone. It'd sort of be like they didn't learn anything.

I'm happy there's a focus on making smaller, mid-range devices more spec-ed out. I think the HTC One Mini, for example, is a great thing. The specs aren't bad and they're offering 16GB storage (I love what HTC is doing with storage; love that the One's minimum storage is 32GB. Kudos). Most mid-rangers of this sort are 8GB. Isn't the S4 Mini 8GB, if I'm not mistaken? Won't that essentially take up everything considering how much space TouchWiz needs?

I don't know much as I'm not very interested in mid-rangers, but I'm glad they're available for Android users. Choice, baby. Motorola X Phone seems to be a nice mid-ranger, too.

It's really really time for Apple to offer a choice. "Time" being 2014, I guess.

Strange. I don't notice my One getting any hotter than my 4s would get during heavy use.

I do agree about the "cheap" connection. I swear that is the first part that will break on this phone.

As for charging, mine seems to do fine on the A/C adapter, but not when plugged into the computer. USB 2.0 just can't provide enough current.
