I've decided I'm going to get the Rebel XT (have had a Rebel G for a long time), and was curious if anyone knew of good web sites to purcahse from? Just searching google, I can find some good deals, but want to make sure I'm not going to get taken.

Chip NoVaMac said:Does it not say something to you when local dealers and the likes of B&H have prices that are a "few" dollars of each other? P. T. Barnum may have been right.
Maybe you need to go to work for a camera shop and see what the true price that dealers pay. It may not account for deals to some big box stores. But I do work for a major "regional" reseller, that gets "good deals".
In the end if you want to be all about the price you paid, then don't ask for help when you have a problem from either a local store, or from some of us on the net.

Cause if you are then you'll probably find Abes of Maine or Buydig, which are both respectable places.

thanks everyone.
just an aside, i was planning on getting the camera with the 18-55 lens.. but have heard the stuff about it not being the greatest. is there another lense that you would recommend?
jared_kipe said:Support? As in how do I use feature X on my camera? Thats what a manual is for. As in returns? http://abesofmaine.com/support.asp#11 abes has full 30 day return policy. Buydig is stricter taking 10 days and a 10% restocking fee on returns. No restocking fee if its broken and you want a new one.
