Apple tries to convince customers that they NEED to upgrade to fix their problems and if you send it in to get fixed, they do it to your device.
And sometimes people just want to try it to see if they like it...

Whats the harm... THERE IS NO TURNING BACK.. YOU do NOT have the freedom to return YOUR OWN PROPERTY TO ITS ORIGINAL OS.

WHY, because you are all SHEEP and Apple, like Microsoft, are SHEEP FURMKERS... Follow the hard, go to the direction your pointed to and take it the way they give it to you.
Now for those who resist, or simply ask apple to help in apple forums, your post WILL BE DELETED as they CAN NOT LET YOU INFLUENCE THE REST OF THE HERD.

So, if ANYBODY has a solution to the problem where as we can not revert back to our previous iOS or earlier, PLEASE for the love of God, share!!!

iPhone4, Iphone5, and iPad, network Airstation.
I don't know about all you folks, but I PAID for my devices, therefore those device are MINE and MINE ALONE and the space they contain for storage is MY real-estate and MINE ALONE. I should be fully allowed to revert and should not be nagged by the updates.

I have now dug out my old Polaris 6.0 dumb phone, set up IBM PC compatible and an Android tab that I have already customized and runs like a dream the way I WANT not the way goofle, microshaft or rotten apple wants..

I pay for it, its my way or the highway.. MY hard labor goes into buying the devices I use.
THE LAW GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO A FULL REFUND!!!!!

Then don't update

Having used ios 7 on my ipad and iphone 4, I have hated nearly every aspect of it for the past month. My iphone 4 has became unusable because it is not upto the job of running ios7 (it was perfect on 6!). Maybe I'm paranoid and think apple done this so to make us update to the the latest device? Either way it made me intqrigued to try android os. And to be fair. For what I want out of my devices it seems ok. Especially moving my music over to google music in the cloud, which is one of the main functions of my phone.

iPhone 4, huh?

And buying a 4S, 5, 5s, or 5C is out of the question for you, apparently.

So since buying a new phone is off the table for you I guess this means you're going to buy an Android phone from 2010. And since 3 year old Android phones run 2013 software with no problem that should be a great plan. Have fun!

+1 was thinking the same thing

Exactly. How can you compare a 2013 model android phone with the latest hardware and most recent OS to a three year old iPhone with 3 generation old hardware.

Now, if your complaint was with the 5 or 5S, that would be at least a more even comparison.

At least Apple updates old hardware.

Why not downgrade. Go download a copy or iOS 6, and do a dfu restore.

Why do people always feel the need to announce to the world that they're switching to Android?

You don't like iOS 7. Cool. Your iPhone is slow. Great. You want to try Android. Amazing. I'm not exactly sure what the point of this thread is.

iOS7 works fine on my 4S, but it annoys me that some of Apple's services are so poor outside the US. Also, I am not sure about the display in iOS7, for it doesn't seem very user-friendly to those of us with impaired vision (and, yes, I am aware of the system settings for bigger/bolder fonts, but it winds up looking like a dog's breakfast.) In any case, I am sure that iOS7 will become more polished over time and even now I think it works better than iOS6 on my phone.

Beat me to posting how unhappy I am with iOS7.

Goodbye! You'll be back in a year. You have been warned.

Apple provides the best user experience, and it does that best with its newest devices. Always been that way, always going to be that way.

Been using Apple since the Apple II - don't think so....

Don't let the door hit you on the way out... You will be back.

Hopefully, iOS8 will fix this mess...

Maybe... I just feel cheated by installing the awful ios7. I really liked the way my phone was.

Maybe I'll feel different next year but im definitely not upgrading to iphone 5 c/s because ios 7 made my phone awfull. I'd rather give android a go. Seems bit ok the last few days I've used it.

Makes me angry though because I loved the way it was

Same here. Wanted a 5c (the other object of Fanboy insults), but after using it a lot at the store, decided I'm happy with my old 3GS on iOS5.

iOS7 looks like it was designed by Fisher-Price...

Not accurate.
There's been zero outrage from 3GS owners who likewise are unable to run iOS7 on their iPhones.

That would be me. If only I can but my iPad back on iOS6. At least they fixed the needless swirling icons on iOS7... now to fix the video output using the old video cables.

Why do people always feel the need to announce to the world that they're switching to Android?

Discussion...

I've finally upgraded my Nook HD+ (only $149 mind you) to Android 4.2 and am using it more than my iPad 2. Would be using my iPad 2 more if I had kept it on iOS6.

Just read here a week or 2 and you know that iOS 7 sucks.
Complaints on an online forum (which is naturally full of them) don't really paint a full picture of what it will be like for each individual. Certainly some good things to know but still won't give you a good picture of what it will be like for you for your device and your uses.

That and what typical user would have time to spend reading forums? Despite the fact that in a perfect world that would be the way to go, in real life that's simply not the reality.

I've pretty much had it with iOS 7 myself. 7.0.3 has further broke the Music app. I've already tossed my iPad in the trash due to the eyestrain iOS 7 causes. No interest in the new iPads due to iOS 7. I think I'm going the opposite route and moving back to a flip phone and an iPod Classic.

Huh??

And you still have control of your device. Apple didn't update your phone to iOS 7, you did. Next time, go to an apple store and play around with a device running iOS 7. Then, make a decision.

If you aren't just trolling around, you'll be back in one year or less ...

----------

Not anymore.

Now more than ever ...

----------

Btw I'm not a troll. Just a fan that's angry the way ios7 made my ip4 crap

Yeah. Installed 7.0.3. Made it a bit better but the framrate overall is rubbish. Music app is hideous. Too much white. Oh and the phone app is way too slow

----------

Just wondering if any one felt the same way

Try to run latest android version on a 2010 android phone and let me know .... You're going to see iOS 7 under different eyes ....

----------

I think iOS7 does have a lot of potential, but it's going to take time for it to mature. Some of the complaints that I hear are definitely reasonable (i.e. font sizes, lack of traditional UI elements, etc.) and even more so when considering the simplicity behind previous versions. I was always amazed at how even a toddler could quickly learn how to use an iPhone/iPad within minutes of touching it. I'm not sure if that's still possible at this point.

Technically you're not forced to upgrade to iOS7, but don't expect developers to continue updating legacy versions of their apps. That's really the loss to not upgrading to the latest and greatest version of iOS.

The reality is that people was complaining about how "old" was iOS, then apple took the hard way (redesign its os almost from scratch) and now the same people complains about how good was the old iOS 6.

Whiners always will whine ....

I'm not completely happy with iOS 7, it has flaws , but I'm giving Apple time to refine it.

Unfortunately, while it's still a good idea, even playing around with iOS 7 at the Apple store or on someone else's device won't really tell you how it will run for you on your device with your typical usage.

Where exactly did he say buying a new phone is off the table for him?

Not anymore.

Indeed. The Nexus 5 bests the iPhone in practically every category. I hate to say it, but it's true... Apple really needs to step up its game. I expected new features in iOS 7, but got none; just a redesign that made it boring and harder to use.

perhaps to spark some conversation that's actually informative about the other OS or their experience. too bad one could come in here delete all but a small handful of replies to narrow it down to informative.
