Thank you! Pill lovers don't have much to say about that wasted gap of pixels between the bezel and the top of the pill. At least the notch feels somewhat uniform.
“Pill lovers”??? Why do you sound so antagonistic?

Regardless, that literally doesn’t bother me.

Can someone prove this has actually happened in the past 5 years?? It doesn't even happen when you pick a "non-USA" Siri voice since Siri went to 100% AI driven at least that long ago (and was the only reason it ever happened)
It literally happened to me this past Sunday. This is the road I was referring to if you want to try on your end "Rockhill Dr, Bensalem, PA 19020". Siri Voice is set to American 4. iOS 17 beta 7 21A5319a.

Just tried it (British voice 3) and “Getting directions to Rockhill Drive”…

Trying other voices to see as well.

Edit: Tried every single Siri. Live and they are all the same and correct… “Starting route to Rockhill Drive…”

Edit…American Voice 4 works for me…

American voice 1, 2 & 3, “Starting route to Rockhill Drive…”
I tried it again on my end and Siri still isn't saying "Drive" correctly for me. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: I normally have Siri turned off and decided to toggle it on and try again. This time it said "Drive" correctly. Then I toggled it back off and tried again to see if it was some sort of glitch with Siri but then it said "Drive" correctly then too. So now I really don't know what was up with it before. Maybe someone at Apple is actually paying attention to this thread 🤷‍♂️

What is it saying instead??
It was saying "Derv" instead of "Drive". So more like it was trying to sound out "Dr" instead of recognizing it as shorthand for "Drive". If I knew they would have fixed it that fast I would have recorded it lol

Hmmmm…still works fine for me. When you reboot, are you doing a hard restart or just a normal shutdown?
Normal power shutdown then normal power back on. The only other variable I haven't mentioned is that I do have this area as a downloaded offline map BUT I don't think that is playing a role since I'm not currently offline. IDK. I'm going to update to today's Beta 8 and see what happens.

EDIT: I've updated to iOS 17 Beta 8 and still hearing "Derv". Updated the offline map for this area and it is still present in both online and offline map modes. I even tried to toggle Siri on to see if it would correct itself like before and that didn't happen this time around. So now I'm really confused as to why it briefly correctly itself before my previous reboot. It's not a big deal. But just weird how different our experiences are.

Maybe y’uns is getting some sort of localized PA accent version??

The google shows this as the latest result. More apps than I thought

Guys you’ll never believe what happened. I was in a car next to someone with an Android phone. Wait! There’s more to the story. I was navigating on his phone using Google maps. And when I switched apps to change the music: a little Google maps Picture in Picture screen stayed visible as an overlay over Spotify. Now THAT’s a live activity. It was a great experience. Why doesn’t iPhone’s PiP extend to other apps…?
Oh yeah, iPhones and iOS are so unbelievably restricted and behind in so many ways that it blows my mind. It also blows my mind that iPhone users simply aren't aware of it.

And yet they just make the loveliest, cleanest, hardware and software.

It is a constant dilemma in my mind.

I am just happy that macOS remains largely unrestricted and unlocked due to the underlying *nix terminal being available before Apple realised the massive profits to be made by locking out the terminal, and thus sideloading, forcing everyone to go through the app store for iPhone, where they collect an insanely huge Apple Tax on all developer's pre-cost revenue.

As a developer we prioritise features that appeals to the maximum amount of people. Since Apple decided to add the two punch holes only to the screens of the least selling phones no wonder if developers postpone adding features to the cutouts.
Right and I get that. Makes complete sense. But that's a hardware driven feature. I was mainly referring to features introduced in upcoming versions of software.

I hate Google, but am still forced to use Google Maps sometimes (not signed in, and only via the web site - not the app) because it is so much better in Japan. It's incredible that a company like Apple managed to screw Maps up all those years ago and has still not recovered from it.
Yet, other people’s experience is that Apple Maps is excellent, now. Hard to know what is causing you to considered it screwed up. It seems that the data is still weak in some areas depending on the data source.
