This case is very nice. I bought on a whim and it's just my fav now, thin and comfortable. Plus lots of colors to choose from.
I got the Mous aramid case as well (both with Google credit) which is nice, again a bit chunky but good protection.

No doubt in a few weeks I won't use any case lol.

Don't do it :)

These smartphones are so slick going naked seems very risky. I don't like the feel of either Pixel 8 Pro or 9 Pro XL naked, they feel too fragile and slippery. But I do like a good thin case that has nice grip to it.

I've always been a ditch the case after a month guy, but I'm going to have to be more careful with this if my wife will be having it in a few months. At least my cases will fit the 9 Pro if I get it lol.

I understand, certain phones do feel great nude, like the Pixel 4 XL, that felt great naked and was criminal to put a case on it.

I felt that way about my Pixel 5 I just posted off. 🥲

Yes for sure the Pixel 5 too. That was meant to be caseless.

But these newer phones are designed so slickly and slippery to hold, a case is a must otherwise it just inevitable the phone will flip out and drop.

Not used my Pixel 8 much today as been shopping / dog walking, but was on 100% when it came off charge at 8:30am. It's now 3pm and it's 60% and feels a little warm lol.
I've been spoiled with the Pixel 9 Pro XL being such a joy to use.

The battery on this 8 is a*s. Very nearly nipped into Currys today to see the 9 Pro and Fold (if they even had them) but talked myself out of it. The less time spent looking at the Fold the absolute better for me tbh 😮‍💨

My Wife has the Pixel 8, battery life is mediocre at best. I had the 8 Pro which has better battery, and the new 9 Pro XL is even way better than the 8 Pro battery life.

I've read that the smaller 9 Pro is supposed to have respectable battery life, not as good as the 9 Pro XL, but not far off.

So quick 1 week 2 days review, Battery life is a lot better than my P8P and on par with my s24U I think. reception is good, my mobike network not so much, so switching on Monday.

Casewise, Casemate off google store is poor quality, sides are angled away so when you squeeze phone they move, same issue with Pela Cases. Mous is nice, and weird smell has gone from Spigen thin one (I forget name). Quadlock (for my bike) is very good as always, however it stops my pixel stand from charging it.

Did anyone preorder a pixel watch? I have one on pre order but I am having second thoughts. I'm paying £250 for it and get £50 towards my pixel buds pro 2, but I'm really tempted to stick to my Garmin even though I don't do enough sport to justify my Garmin 😂

I ordered one on my 9 Pro XL Rose Quartz order. Obviously the phone came but watch is coming 10th September. Or at least, it would have done if I didn't return the 9 Pro XL and cancel the watch etc.

With my regular 9 Pro, I opted out of the watch 3 deal (money off and £50 credit) as I just didn't feel like I'd get the benefit of the changes versus the watch 2. I may end up ordering one later down the line if they do a deal on them at some point, but right now my Pixel Watch 2 does what I need.
I do think if you have a smart watch or tracker that suits your needs there is no real reason to go for a PW3 unless you like the aesthetic better.

I've decided to cancel the watch as setting timers by my wrist and viewing nest cams isn't worth the big hit in battery life, and Ive just discovered an app for Garmin's that tracks steps v frodos trip to mount doom 😂

Nope, I stuck with my Galaxy Watch5 Pro. I had the Pixel watch 1 and 2 and didn't really like them much.

I was tempted with the smaller of the 2 for the wife's Christmas pressie, but ended up going via EE with their offer and they were only offering the Watch 2 and it wasn't that competitive either

I'm very happy with my Samsung Watch Ultra; paired it with my Pixel Fold yesterday as I've resent the S24U ready to be sold on. Happy to report back that the watch does all I need of it and all the apps I need work without fault 👌🏼

Plus its the right size for my wrists/hands; the Pixel Watches just feel small, but haven't seen the 45mm one in the flesh yet

Totally get you. That's why I bought an XL knowing full well I'd want the regular sized Pro.
It's been nice using the XL, though, but only really indoors. The minute I'm out and about with it it's just too big for me to use one handed.
I have nothing against big smartphones because there should be a variety of choices for everyone, but for me it's a bad trend with all these big smartphones. Everyone is doing it, Google, Samsung, Apple. Soon I won't have a smartphone to buy because they will be too big for me and it makes them uncomfortable to use. I hope smaller smartphones won't vanish in the near future. A 6.3 inch screen is the maximum size that I can tolerate in a smartphone.
The future of smartphones looks grim to me because of the screen sizes.
