I wonder how many of us out there are comfortable existing both in the Android and iOS world? I use both iOS and Android on a daily basis. I would like to state that I am a lifelong Apple User and prefer iOS over Android. Never going to give up on iOS or Mac OS but I have no qualms over using Android or Windows as I have used them for work and have multiple devices for personal use.

I have two phones right now an iPhone 14 Pro and a Motorola Razr 2024. I use them about equally and appreciate the strong points of each platform. I exist in both worlds and appreciate apps that can help make this existence as fluid as possible.

People have the audacity to have a different favourite flavour of ice cream to me, too!
Speaking about apples and pears…

Yes, I’ve used several android phones and if iOS wouldn’t exist I could survive with a Samsung phone (they are by far my favorite in android world).
but iOS do exist…

I would wager quite a few, it's commonly agreed among even diehard Android fans that iPads are a better experience than Android Tabs since the Tablet UI on Android often felt like an afterthought until very recently. Android Phone + iPad is a very common pairing.

I wholeheartedly apologise friend, you were totally accurate and not at all ludicrous when you compared using Android to smoking. I shall endeavour to be a better person moving forwards.

I've got an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Google Pixel 6 Pro sitting here in front of me. Both released the same year.
There's no contest. Not in software or hardware.
I have the Pixel because I write apps for a living. Otherwise I wouldn't have it.
I struggle to even break even with android Apps. Lucky if they bring in 1/10th of the revenue that the Apple ones do.
The pixel has under screen touch id that never works and I've tried re-scanning my fingers multiple times.
The software itself is appalling, yeah I'll get flamed for saying that, but the crashes that I have to deal with because the system needs nannying just dont happen on iOS.
Android, and Studio, has improved over the years but it's trying to keep up and has always trailed way way behind.
You want your fold phone?
Fair enough, but you and I both know you are having to sacrifice for that hardware feature.
Switch? Why?

The reality is, with a very few exceptions, Android has a huge fan base for two reasons: sideloaded apps (often illegally obtained) and cheaper smartphones.

It’s not the owner that has control of the phone. It is Google that has control of the owner. In Android the user is the product.
This may come as a shock to many iPhone users, but Apple also has control of the owner. In iOS the user is also very much the product.

Don't let hyperbolic marketing and altruistic virtue-signalling fool you.

Macrumours seems to have the most fanboyism out of all outlets. Seriously, growup. Each platform is great in its own way.
You know it's bad when you regularly see the users of the /r/Apple subreddit mocking the MacRumors userbase.

Cuz I wanted a Fold. I still bought a iPhone 16 Pro but at this point I prefer OneUI over iOS. It's basically iOS with more options. Why tie yourself to one system.
You've commented before about the Fold and I must say, I'm genuinely envious; it's such a nice product.

My challenge is that I just can't bring myself to spend the money on it as I don't use a phone enough to justify the cost (a Zephyrus G14 is the same price and I'd get a lot more use out of that).

Sure. Who doesn’t want such a marvelous crease in the middle of the screen?

I used corporate benefits on it + 300 Eur discount when it was released + another 300 Eur off for trading in an old phone, which brought it down to the price of an iPhone Pro. I wouldn't have purchased it for 2k either

Lots of silly and, as noted, predictable comments here. Apple user since 2006, iPhone since 2008 and I’ll be switching my phone to a Galaxy and computer to a custom built PC as soon as both need upgrading.

I can no longer justify the price of the devices for my usage and thanks to some critical thinking skills I no longer view Apple and their tactics as somehow superior to the rest. I’m looking forward to being able to have a PC that is built exactly how I want and fully upgradable for a fraction of what I pay for Apple computers.

My needs and outlook on technology have simply changed and other than familiarity there’s not much pulling me towards Apple. Beautiful hardware was once a draw but it’s become mundane looking to me at this point.

I also never gave a damn about the “ecosystem” and am pretty turned off by the term and its implications.

Perhaps I’ll be back, but to me the company, products and use cases and opinions on technology have changed and I’m looking forward to something different.

Took me a whole 10 minutes to not see it anymore. Just like I don't pay attention to the Dynamic Island on an iPhone.

It's always people not even using it, complaining about the crease, because they don't even look straight to the screen and it's more obvious from the side

The crease it’s not only something you see. It is something you feels. Awful. I used one Fold 5 for three months (company device, given as a try). Absolutely terrible.
we opted for a more traditional S24+

I will say the one thing Apple genuinely excels at is marketing.
they surely spend a lot of money on it.
still they have a different approach to the customers
