Man this hits the nail on the head in some ways

Returned my
11” iPad Pro. Didn’t like no headphone jack, Face ID on a tablet, or usb-c even I have tons of lighting cables. Won’t be ready to seriously transition until iPhones are usb-c standard then I’ll be forced to start phasing out my usb-c to Lightning’s

LOVE my mini5, headphone jack, Touch ID gen2, p3 screen, bezels to hold onto, and such a condensed form factor

The on screen keyboard is awkward too. I can’t deal with more than 9.7

Even 10.5 in a light trial run was awkward to me in landscape

The value is incredible too. Half the price of the base 11” iPad Pro for mini5

I agree with all that, got my mini 5 last weekend and have my 11” for sale.

Like others have said, different ipads suit different use cases. I’m similar to you in that I prefer the mini size over the “medium” size ipads. But I also prefer the larger 12.9. I have the 12.9 for drawing and productivity, and the mini for casual consumption. Some people can get away with one device for everything; I can’t. I should also note that I prefer a smaller phone (SE) and I only watch movies and shows on my TV. So which device one chooses also depends a lot on what their other devices are.

it's true, the case adds severe enough weight for one hand use. Take it off and there's a big difference. It's gonna be an extra 200g, 250g. Think about that, it's 1/4 of a kilo for something that's already dense with technology and has some weight of it's own.

Because the case I have is very bulky and heavy and I don’t want to use the iPad naked, today I got a Chinese replica of the old smart cases that Apple used to make for the air 1 and air 2.

It is not a perfect case in regard to fit and finish, but the price was 10 euros, so I was not expecting Apple quality.

Anyway, it is slim and light, fits good and all the holes line up good.

Now I’ll test it over the weekend to see if it improves the usage for me.

These features will more than likely never revert back.

Mini5 came out after iPP 2018, same with the iPad 10.5 2019...

I think we'll see a touchID (not headphone jack) iPhone early next year too (the SE2 or iPhone8.2)

and if that is true, fine. I'll be using my iPads for years to come as they are.
