I was very pleasently suprised to find out my Hi-Rise which I use for my iPhone 5s and iPad Mini, works perfect with the my iPad Air!! This is a fantastic dock!!

How did you stabalize your ipad air on the Hi Rise. I tried putting mine up but it seemed kinda wobbly, not to stable.

I just adjusted the back of the HiRise to fit to the size. I have a thin Apple Leather case on my iPhone 5s so with the Apple smart cover on the Air its pretty close to the same size so it fits perfect.

Very stable.. I just recorded a video of me putting it off/on, etc..

Don't know how good it is as a judge for you guys but you can see none the less.

Thanks for the vid! I would've liked to see you actually using the iPad though. Swiping through screens, tapping at the top and bottom of the screen, etc. Basically how it would have held up under normal use.

I tried that dock because I LOVE belkin products, but that dock will not fit anything with a case, not even the Apple Leather case. If it is not a bare device it will not dock on it.

I don't follow - the video on the Belkin site shows it's fully adjustable for cases

So that's not exactly the Air.You left the cover on and it will make the air a bit more stable.

Without it I had to use some stick on felt to ensure better back support and to avoid scratching.

Your video demonstrates how easy it is to scratch the ipad.

If you look at the design of the lightning plug platform on that Belkin dock, then you can see it should work for 'open base' and '30-pin sized opening' style cases but 'lightning plug sized opening' cases may not work as the lightning plug on that dock will not fully insert into the iPad due to the thickness of the case.

I called Twelve South about this, and they say they don't recommend it because it doesn't have good back support and it could possibly topple over. But, I've found it to work just fine.

Another vote for the HiRise. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that you have to clip your lightning cable into the stand. This means that it isn't easy to grab the charging cable if you are traveling, etc. . . Obviously most people have spares, so it isn't a big deal but it is a minor annoyance.

This is true. Between the Hi Rise and the Elevation Dock, my two lightning cables are tied to my nightstand. I order two of the Amazon Basics Lightning Cables for on the go.

I had this. They're awful.

The dock won't carry the top weight. I have one for my iPhone sitting here. I'll double check.

Yah too top heavy and really difficult to Dock...unless they made a bigger ipad one? The curve around the lightening connector will lead to scratches.

As to cases, with the iPhone it only works with the slimmest of cases unfortunately.

This. There's nothing quite like it that is as versatile and beautiful. I've got one myself and have been using it more with the iPad mini and the Air. Don't really dock my iPhone as much.

I'm curious to know what the dock is for (besides charging). They look great but it seems that there isn't a practical use for it since the iPad can't be used while on the dock. Thanks for any info!

so I purchased the Poetic Slimline case that Amazon had on sale for $.01 and it finally came in. Great case, although I already have one just like it on my Mini.

Anyways a friend asked me if I could still use the HiRise with it even with the Poetic case on and yes you can!! I didn't adjust the HiRise at all. It fits perfect both ways. I made another video just to show (this time vertical) lol

Can someone please try with a dock+? Thanks.

The Air works great with Dock+. Having the heavy base allows me to remove it easily with one hand. With the thickness the same as the original mini I can use the same setting since I use the Invellop case on both.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm probably ready to make the order now. This makes this the best universal dock there is. It is also pretty much future proof.

Don't have this yet but should in a few weeks. Was one of the early backers and have a few coming in for the whole family in different colors. Will post pictures once received.

Interesting design but I have an aversion to dock which use the connector to hold the device in place rather than a "front lip" of some kind. It's not so much a problem with a small device like a phone but, with a larger device like a tablet, the additional weight puts more leverage on the connector, which will only be worse if you accidentally knock it back.

From the picture it looks like it does not use the cable.

From the picture, yes it does not look like it uses the cable, but I don't think you can go by the picture considering there isn't even any kind of cable coming out of the dock.

From the product description:
Compatible with the new cable and connector of the iPad mini or iPhone 5. (Cable NOT included.)
