Not really both companies seem to be pushing the touch UIs found on their mobile devices onto their respectuve desktop OSs

With the difference that you can't actually buy a Mac with a touch screen. Whereas there are plenty on the market from Dell, Sony etc running Windows right now. Windows 8 will be perfect for them.
