There really wasn't a question about it, per se. It all just remains a wishlist type of item.Unless it did come with 10.1 and it's hidden?
Same reason they don't have additional options to place app icons anywhere you want, or change themes, or anything else like that--it's not something they feel iOS needs (at least so far).Anyone know why they just won't make it an option already? This is the type of **** that makes people dislike Apple IMO.
I wouldn't mind some display options for the home screen, rather than a grid of preferred, but auto sorted icons.Same reason they don't have additional options to place app icons anywhere you want, or change themes, or anything else like that--it's not something they feel iOS needs (at least so far).

It is what iOS has essentially always been in that respect (although they've certainly been expanding and loosening up over the years, even if there's room for more and more). Nothing really new or surprising there. And once again, +1 for jailbreaking. I had dark mode when I had my 5s with ios7 jb and loved it.
Leave it to them to control how we use our own phones, comical.
Hard to say never since all kinds of things can happen as they have happened in relation to other things before (like widgets or third party keyboards or something else similar). As much as I would like a dark mode or even a wire-frame mode (ala Tony Stark), its never going to happen. Sadly.
It seems like they bring in things that they feel would appeal to their typical users and/or that they want to include for their own reasons, but it's not really anything and everything, nor is it something that might come early on and could take longer for them to decide to go with (for whatever reason).I just find it comical how many ideas they actually got/stole from jailbreak tweaks and yet.

Well, to be fair Apple never allowed jailbreak. If developers created unsupported tweaks for iPhone, expect those ideas to be stolen and baked right into the OS later on.I just find it comical how many ideas they actually got/stole from jailbreak tweaks and yet.

Sigh.Unless it did come with 10.1 and it's hidden?
So let me get this straight, you dislike Apple because they didn't implement a feature that was based on a rumor?
Furthermore, why would Apple spend money developing a dark mode for iOS when Night shift mode accomplishes the same goal (making the screen easier on the eyes at night).
You expect Apple to spend thousands of dollars on a feature that just "looks cool"?
Sigh.
Apple isn't going to release dark mode until next year's iPhone with OLED or MicroLED screen.
Incorrect, I dislike them for many more reasons. And no, night shift does not substitute dark mode, at all. Night shift doesn't turn white to black right? There's more purposes than that.
Believe it when I see it, both the dark mode & OLED display.
What is the purpose of dark mode on iOS? Besides "it looks cool" and "I don't like white everywhere!" Night shift takes care of reading the screen at night with less eye strain.
To be less jarring at night would be part of it. Night Shift addresses the blue light aspect of it all, but it doesn't address general brightness, which is different.Dark Mode was introduced on Mac OS to allow someone to focus and get work done. This is how is was introduced during the keynote.
Dark mode for Apple TV makes perfect sense as it makes for a more theater type experience.
