Hey guys. So, everyone seems to say ML will install, but no accelerated graphics on X3100. One person also said the GMA 950 is good to go, so if I installed ML, would it work fine w/o accelerated graphics until a fix comes around, or do the graphics already work or what?

I am interested on the OSInstall.mpkg more exactly the distribution file
i want to know what are the differences between the original file and the patched version, can someone provide me the original version of this file?
Im trying to adapt this guide to the latest release (i have the latest distribution file but it has big changes between them) i noticed the adding of efi32 in there but there are some changes from:
10.8.0.1.1.1306847324 to 10.7.0.1.1.1306847324
PS: in meantime im trying to use the patched file with the latest OSX release to see if it works
(i have mac pro 1,1 with Ati 4890)

Hackerwayne, is it possible to have graphics acceleration with x3100, but without having to reinstall ML? I'm asking, because when i have installed ML i have overwrited Lion, so i can't apply the guide as writed on post #22...

Troubles with Mountain Lion and MacBook 2.16!

I also tried to install Mountain Lion on my MacBook (Mid 2007). I obtained an image from the final version and followed all steps.
Now I have the following problem:
The steps 1 - 7 are working well. But when I try to reboot my Mac from the new "OSX install" flash drive, I all the time get a prohibition sign and Lion starts again from my SSD (Before I delete Lion I want to test the installation of Mountain Lion on a second partition).
I also pressed "cmd + V" to get an information about what he`s doing while booting! I saw, that there are some error messages but couldn`t identify them (boot process is too fast for reading).
I saw that hackerwayne successfully installed Mountain Lion on an identical MacBook. Do I need something special for this device?
The only one thing which could be is, that in the "Packages" folder the "SIUResources.pkg" was absent. So I downloaded it from Internet and added it because I got the message that Mountain Lion can`t be installed because of some missing files before.
But now I have the problem with the prohibition sign and don`t know what to do!
I really become desperated now!
Can anybody help me please?

If you're trying it on a MacBook3,1 there is also 94245A3940C91C80 to try as board ID. Still installing, so I don't know if it'll work totally, but at least the installer started.

ML on unsupported Macs/graphics card issue
A post suggesting a graphics card to solve this issue, in the Apple Store. It's not cheap, but considering what a "supported Mac Pro" would cost... I have not installed it or tried the ML "hack" install, but will let you all know. Right now there are more pressing issues (deadlines) that have precedence; will get back to it soon.

Installing is the easy part. No major workaround. It is the video card driver. It simply doesn't work in 64 bit. Someone needs to adapt one.

Really? Did you try that? The Final Version does not work with any of the available tutorials because apple removed or added something from or to the installation... that's why i want to know the differences. How do you explain that the build 12A128p (GM) Presented in this thread works and the 12A269 (FV) does not work anymore? Firs i though that i missed something in reading i thing over 30 tutorials out there, but basically 2: one based on chameleon boot and one with including efi32.pkg and some old system folder (where all the difference is that you get more mac models in the allow boot bla bla bla).

1. What the best way for installing ML on my device from SL?
2. Now device have 2gb ram. Need I upgraded it to 4gb?
3. Maybe the best will bay and install lion or mountain lion will better on old device?
