This is write about my experience: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/15223182/

The link goes to post 249 in another similar thread.

Basically you should take the SIUResources.pkg from your Lion installer and include that together with all the other packages in the folder named Packages. Nothing else was done for me to get to where I describe. Well, it's not the only thing - I did follow the instructions and got what I needed. Now I have a Mountain Lion partition that just needs to boot into the actual installer.

mine doesnt tell me what is missing.... it just says its missing some required components...

edit: the patch has been updated to make it possible to install mountain lion on a mac that has cpu upgraded to 64bit while the efi is still 32bit.

I shall try your patch tomorrow with my MacBook 2,1 and also a core 2 duo upgraded iMac :)

The iMac would function just fine as a server actually - if I can get it to work I will be insanely grateful!

I love the concept of this to give some life to an older Macbook, late 2007 (3,1). The one fear I have is that I'll have to spend time every time a 10.8.X release hits and screws up the kernel or the video kext.

I did, and this is the patch i made for gm. follow the old posts and use this patch will make gm installed. sound can be fixed by installing the AppleHDA.kext from Lion. but qe/ci is still the real problem. is there anyone can port Linux Graphics Drivers from Intel to OSX?

PS: boot.efi in this patch is for x64 only since mountain lion contains only 64bit kernel now. so the size is smaller then the original one. and do not try to install mountain lion on a 32bit cpu mac. it will not work.

Thanks for your information!!!
Let me try it after backups MacBook.

There are a bunch of features in ML that won't work correctly if you put it on an unsupported Mac.

Incredibly valuable input there. I'm glad you told me this. Is the same true of my hackintoshes? Hope not!

No and no. Done right, a hackintosh (and this hack for unsupported models) gives you a full, regular OS X just like everyone else. Barring hardware specific features like AirPlay Mirroring, everything is there.

I had thought so, but at the same time, now that posts can't be down voted, I felt like someone needed to reply to say how BS the pos was so people don't get the wrong idea.

doesn't work for Macbook 4,1 with ML GM

Hello, I have tried all the tricks on this thread but I still can't boot the 10.8 external installation drive. I get the 'stop' sign for a moment and then it boots to my internal Lion partition. I will be grateful if someone figures out the hack with the GM release and Macbook2,1 or 4,1. Thanks for your efforts.

Install GM to Mac mini 2007

Bump. I tried the same thin on my 1.1 and it comes back with the same error. Specifically in console it says:

7/11/12 12:52:24.967 AM Install OS X Mountain Lion: Could not find package ref in any source for: com.apple.pkg.SIUResources

I'm from Ukraine, and sorry for my english.. :)
On the installing process i have error "Could not find package: com.apple.pkg.SIUResources", and i found this package from Lion (10.7), and include it on the InstallESDhacked.dmg in folder Packages.
After this modifications, process instalation begin, but after reboot i see "slashed circle" symbol, and boot in 10.7 :(

Actually some Hackintoshes do,have AirPlay Mirroring.

I would love to try this on an unsupported computer, but the only unsupported computer, I plan to keep on Leopard.
