It sounds like you'll be able to get a great deal on a series 8 or Ultra 1 after release and not be missing out on much. Unless the new processors significantly improve battery life, this doesn't offer significant value over the outgoing models. Coming from a series 4, the series 8 is still a hell of an upgrade.

Honestly it seems for me that the S6-7-8 chip is already fast enough, what we need is more efficiency to gain more battery life. We don't need a ridiculously powerful Apple Watch
I am surprised by a few of comments here regarding not wanting more speed or new sensors. I welcome more speed and accuracy with open arms. For those not wanting advancements, just get a new battery for your existing Apple Watch and keep on using what you have.

I am also willing to bet that we’ll see improved battery efficiency just as we have seen with every new model so far.

I’ll keep rocking my S6 till the SX redesign comes.
AW - great UI but battery sucks
Garmin - great battery but UI sucks

They really need to improve the ECG with more sensors, one lead isn't enough.

lets hope for some actual new feature for the new sensor. Apple Watch is already top smartwatch HR sensors.

I never said I don't want more sensors or more accuracy, of course I want that. But Apple quotes 18 hours battery life for the regular Apple Watch since the S0 introduction almost 10 years ago. Extending battery life is the single most useful thing they could bring to users. It's been a few years since I found my AW to be noticeably slow, so yes at this point I would pick efficiency over CPU power

Getting a longer battery life is advancement, and changing the battery of my Watch wouldn't give me 20, 22 or 25 hours of battery life on a single charge. So your advice wouldn't solve anything I'm asking for.

The Apple Watch is the one thing I don't really care to upgrade often. I've had several series, and none of them felt that different from the previous one. As a matter of fact, I don't even know what series I have now. I think it's a 6 or 7, but I don't even remember.
