Prince Caspian also comes with 99 titles when I try to handbrake. Does anyone know which one is correct?

Handbrake is at home currently trying to do this one as well. I'm going to try the RipIt method over lunch.

I've given up trying to rip anything from Disney with any software for Mac. I boot into WinDoze and use DVD Fab, save to back to Mac and encode with HandBrake.

Works everytime for every movie I have tried.

As was said before HB 0.9.3 with title 30. The number of chapters is off in the chapters menu, but plays just fine from beginning to end.

For Prince Caspian, select chapter 58 from the drop-down menu. To find this, I first opened the DVD in DVD Player and saw the runtime. The only one that matched exactly was #58.

Find the correct title in DVD player

For Prince Caspian, select chapter 58 from the drop-down menu. To find this, I first opened the DVD in DVD Player and saw the runtime. The only one that matched exactly was #58.

Actually its even easier. Just play the movie in DVD player, right click on the movie as it plays and look at the title menu for the one with a check next to it.

Kidding right?

First off, thanks for looking!

I am trying to encode a dvd using handbrake. After the initial scanning Handbrake comes up with 99 titles for the movie, 77 of which are duration times within 2-3 minutes of the film.

This is not hard to fix. Open DVD Player and run the movie. Click on Title under the time a couple of times and it will tell you what title it is playing. Same goes with any standard DVD player that is hooked to your television, or PC players like PowerDVD, etc.

BTW, it's title 30.

Hey guys, I'm not a mac user, but I was trying to figure out which title contained the real movie and stumbled onto this thread. So with this threads help and using Kaffeine media player under Linux I confirmed it is indeed title 30 (Kaffeine shows the title numbers when playing a movie).

So for any future people browsing this thread, rip title 30! The other 90 something titles are garbage. Thanks for everyones help, you saved 10 years of my life and kept me sane.

Welcome fellow *NIX brethren ;-) Hey, while you're here, in another thread, we're moaning how apparently Apple has enabled RipLock on SuperDrives, so it's taking me over an hour to rip title 30 to an MP4 file. If you get a chance please let us know about how long this would take with a modern Linux distro / PC.

Btw I have a Wall-e DVD bought in Europe. Here it appears to be title 41 (per elohssa's method above). I'll try and let you know the results. Title 30 was a no-go.

edit: 41's good here.

So:
1) ensure you've installed the latest versions of HandBrake (0.93) + VLC,
2) open DVD in DVD Player, right click and make note of the Title # that is checked,
3) in HandBrake, select the checked Title # from #2, then let 'er rip...

In QT Pro, when you open your movie, look in the lower left of the movie window. You'll see a time display. If you click on that, you'll get an option to switch to frame display. To scroll forward and backward frame by frame, use shift+arrow keys. To view the various video/audio layers, got to Window>Show Movie Properties. It's in this window that you can extract video/audio layers. To add video/audio layers back in to your movie, go to Edit>Add to Movie.

I'm still having trouble using Quicktime Pro to edit the audio video layers. I am able to switch the display to frames on the extracted video, but I don't get the same option when I extract the audio.

More importantly, how do I delete the 40 frames and then add them back to the video? I keep playing around with this but I don't seem to be making any progress. Can anyone give me a step by step?

Thanks,
Brad

I have Wall-E- 1 disc.

I open Handbrake.

96 Titles.

About 80 are between 1:30min and 1:45min

How do I get the movie from DVD to iPod.

After reading this thread I checked walle in my itunes and the time was screwed up. I tried to upgrade / update to 0.9.3 and failed. Then I deleted handbrake and re-downloaded it (0.9.3). Opened walle and it will not get past scanning title 1 of 99. I tried for a while yesterday, restarted macbook and have tried for 10 minutes today.

Thanks to everyone in this thread for taking the time to lend ideas. I benefitted from the latest release of Handbrake 0.9.3 which ripped track 30 with no audio sync problems. Very impressive!

Doesn't work for me...Handbrake 0.9.3 keeps crashing. Am I missing a step?

Handbreak-Wall-e

Hey guys great info on how to trouble shoot this glitch on the movie Wall-e.
I just started using Handbreak and I came across this glitch on the movie
Wall-e. The default track is 22 I think, rip that and then, rip it again but only
get track 30, This is the beginning of the movie. and then you can use iMovie to crossfade the two tracks together.
I hope this helps some people, I had to figure it out on my own. If you have lip sync problems, all I can say is extract the audio. Programs or applications to help you edit the sound and video is iMovie, Logic Pro for more precise editing and I am sure their is allot more out their. Another movie that I had problems with was, Saw V lip sync problem. I tried to fix this lip sync my self but I am not a master on this stuff that much.
Again I hope this helps.

A lot of people are having problems with Disney movies. The steps are fairly simple once you figure out what you need to do.

First, put the DVD in your mac, play it using DVD Player and play the main feature. Once the movie starts you can go to "Go" in your bar and then "Title." Once there see which title is checked off, that is the main title for your DVD. This should work for any movie that is showing up with 99 titles or anything where you aren't sure what the main feature is.

Then open handbrake and get title specific source, put in the title number you found in DVD Player, and then Rip. Everything should work fine.

I know a lot of people have already given this info, but I figured it couldn't hurt to add it one more time for people still confused.

I just tried ripping #30 and the sound is a couple seconds off. I recently had a friend give me his digital copy that came with the blueray disc. I also got the dvd for christmas, so...

Those in Australia (R4) trying to rip the 2 disc Wall-E, it's title #53

Pretty much whatever title matches 1h53m26s
