I got a Mac Studio M2 Ultra base model, and it really is the best Mac I have every used. I had a Mac Studio M1 Ultra and M1 Max and sold them, to get the M2 Ultra and am not looking back...
It is so good that even people who need a laptop will consider that maybe just having a mini on the home office desk full time and not having to plug in the laptop when you get home is enough of a time save to just get it as a second computer. Buy for $600, save plugging laptop in every day for the next five years, sell mini in five years and get back some money. Yeah that can be a win. I could see some folks deciding that is worth it.Seriously, for people that do not need a laptop, the Mac mini is an insane value.
Apple wouldn't build a computer for "no one." There most assuredly are buyers. Else, Apple should have the wisdom to issue a simple announcement that Mac Pro is discontinued and that the Studio is now the Mac pinnacle of power.Because no one is buying PCIE lanes for $3k+, unless you're an Inc. who can tax-depreciate a $7k machine under 26 U.S. Code Sec. 179.
Hyper die would take over >80% of the Mac Studio logic board. How many M2's are we going to get?
M2, M2 PRO, M2 MAX, M2 ULTRA, M2 HYPER!!!

Ultra could be the highest. Apple may have a “special name” for the Mac Pro, but so far that’s not the case. How many M2's are we going to get?
M2, M2 PRO, M2 MAX, M2 ULTRA, M2 HYPER!!!

Still don't understand why they didn't save the Ultra for the Mac Pro, because the Studio is a great deal compared to the new MP.
Few would buy it relative the number of units that will be sold using this model.Still don't understand why they didn't save the Ultra for the Mac Pro, because the Studio is a great deal compared to the new MP.
Not very gradual. They want Pros to gradually transition to the Mac Studio.
I think they would, because the cost of the PR disaster of not putting Apple Silicon into their highest-end product would be even higher than making a machine that hardly sells.Apple wouldn't build a computer for "no one." if you file a Sched C, you can use section 179 which includes sole proprietor , LLC's and Inc. Its really aimed at small businesses to make their life simple and encourage keeping your business equipment up to date. that said, money spent is money spent, its no longer in your hands.Because no one is buying PCIE lanes for $3k+, unless you're an Inc. who can tax-depreciate a $7k machine under 26 U.S. Code Sec. 179.

Apparently you’re not pro enough… 🤷♂️It’s mad these YouTubers saying £7000 is worth it for 1min quicker export, I don’t believe the whole time is money if 1min quicker means you save a lot of time your not thinking correctly
Yeah that’s why I’m on the fence, but if the whine is gone, I’ll upgrade just for that. It’s so awful and annoying and I had to exchange my current one 5 times before giving up and just dealing with it.
Been hearing "can't shrink the die..." for decades now, and, yet, ... It's not a linear shrinking anyways.I'm waiting to buy the M3 Ultra Mac Studio.
I think Apple won't be able to shrink the die past 3nm. So New Mac products will hit a major slow down after 3nm.
Worry, Intel = yes; Worry, Nvidia, not a chance, take a look at their datacenter products. Its almost a given that the M3 will offer ray tracing. That, along with the added performance from the switch to 3NM should make Nvidia and Intel really start worry.
I love my current M1 Mac Studio, but I plan to wait until next year to upgrade to an Ultra.
Why not? TSMC is already testing the 2nm process. It will go all the way down to 1nm eventually as well.I'm waiting to buy the M3 Ultra Mac Studio.

You are no longer allowed to specify the version number of HDMI. It’s all HDMI now and you just go by the features it has. I wonder if the same ruling happened with DisplayPort.Hrmm, unspecified Display Port and HDMI port...

...why no specific information for such a high-priced device?!
I guess it goes without saying that no tests could be performed using 8K HDR footage seeing how Apple has yet to provide this device with an 8K 60P XDR monitor. Oofah.
Cart before the horse? Kindly get it in gear, Tim.
Because it seems like they don’t actually want you to buy the Mac Pro because they are trying to phase that form factor out of existence.
