Don’t expect breakthrough innovation. Yearly update made small incremental innovation in place. This gives flexibility for people who want to upgrade every 1,2,3 years and so on.

The whole presentation was very underwhelming and cringe worthy at times.
Following today's keynote event that saw Apple introducing the new iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple allowed members of the media in attendance to spend some hands-on time with the new devices. MacRumors videographer Dan Barbera was at Apple Park for the event, so he's able to give us an early look at the iPhone 15 lineup, as well as his first thoughts.

The iPhone 15 Pro models are made from titanium, and they are noticeably lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro models. There are contoured edges that improve the feel of the iPhone in the hand, and the Pro models are overall much more comfortable to hold. Apple also cut down on bezel size for even more display than ever, and the Action Button that replaces the Mute Switch is super convenient.
Apple added a 5x zoom lens to the iPhone 15 Pro Max and at its 120mm focal length, you can get great portrait shots. There are options on both Pro models to change the focal length of the Main camera, which you can do just by tapping. It can be set to 24mm, 28mm, or 35mm, and the ability to change focal length is useful for pro photographers.
As for the standard iPhone 15 models, they're more Pro-like than ever with the addition of the Dynamic Island and the new matte glass back. Apple say it is using back glass that has color infused throughout the material, and it's a nice look, especially with the pastel color options.

They'll still be feeling the lightness thoughmost people won’t be feeling that titanium once it’s in the case.
It’s because of how the image is cropped. The sensor is 48MP but generating a 24MP image so it “cuts” out a section that correlates to selected focal length. It’s how they did 2x on the iPhone 14PM. Quad binning to go from 48MP to 1x 12MP image and then the a center section of pixels not binned to get a 2x 12MP image.I'm still trying to understand the main camera. What is the *actual* focal length? Is it 24, 28, or 35mm? It can only be one and the other two would be digital zoom. If it was somehow 3 different focal lengths with optical zoom, then that would have been a bigger point they'd mention.
We are talking about 19 gram difference. That’s 4 nickels. They'll still be feeling the lightness though
I feel like it should be able to change with different focus modes. That would make a lot of sense to me.Really disappointed with the Action Button, if it, indeed, is only capable of one configurable action.
According to GSMArena:How much lighter is iPhone 15 Pro Max vs iPhone 11 Pro Max?
Do you mean automatically, or each time? You can do that with a Shortcut.
Honest question, what use case does switching to one focus mode solve considering you couldn't use it to change back?
I posted that before I understood what you were saying.Do you mean automatically, or each time?
Like, maybe if you’re in work focus, you’d want to use the action button for one thing, like calling into a conference call or Zoom, and for the weekend, you’d want it to open the camera.
It feels like a “Minimum Viable Product” kind of thing that will expand over time. I wouldn’t doubt that they eventually add that. They should make the action button single press, double press or long hold.
What I’ve noticed is apple sales are inversely proportional to MacRumors negative sentiment. That means Apple, imo, will sell hundreds of millions. I’ll be among those.
Considering my X still works pretty darn well, I would certainly hope your one year old phone works flawlessly..Everything is very incremental this year. I already ordered the Ultra 2 but I’m going to pass on the Pro 15. My 14 Pro works flawlessly still.
Me too. Really disappointed with my hand, if indeed only capable of 1 task at 1 time.Really disappointed with the Action Button, if it, indeed, is only capable of one configurable action.
Class action lawsuit for what? Disappointing you? Lol. What do you expect? Unhappy with Apple? There’s plenty of options elsewhere.Bezels look virtually identical lmao. What a dud of a phone, should file a class action lawsuit against these crooks.
Yeah, the numbers given are a kind of deception, like "3nm".For the focal lengths Apple just tells us the full frame equivalents.
