Why? They are talking about the iPod touch and the iPod nano. Two different iPods.
Ah, I missed seeing that there were two devices in there.

Checking the wikipedia entry, Apple described the iPod nano 7th Gen as their "thinnest iPod ever." It is 38% thinner (5.4 mm) than the Nano it replaces (8.78 mm). I suspect that the original iPod nano press release was a little off or at least not precise.

I guess the press release was rounding to the nearest integer, for marketing impact. 😄 🤷🏼‍♂️
