Other Happy with your 14 Pro / Pro Max size decision?

I've had Max/big size iPhones every single year since the 6 Plus and the weight is slowly starting to get to me. I briefly considered going 14 Pro this year but I just absolutely cannot give up the battery life. All in all, I'm cool going another year with the Max, hoping that they eventually go titanium or ceramic or something for the frame.
The Max battery has been so good the last couple gens you can almost just forget about charging on average days. I plug it in in my car when I'm out and about, and otherwise it rarely ever gets charged at home or plugged into much, even overnight.

I preordered the space black, deep purple Max. Max ended up too unwieldy after really trying to live with the form factor. Also not a fan of the purple at all. Space black is a great color way this way, and this is coming from someone who disliked the space grey in favor of colored pro phones over the past few years. Silver looked kinda meh in the store.

Went from 13PM to the 14Pro and LOVE the size so much better. Literally just set up the device, and LOVE it.
Went from 13 PM to 14 Pro. I was looking forward to the smaller size which I do like. But, I’m noticing the battery drains noticeably faster. I’m possibly considering swapping for 14 PM.
It’s hard to make battery pronouncements in the first week or so, there’s just so much going on, even in the background. Hopefully it gets better for you.
I do slightly miss the screen of the 13 Pro Max after downgrading to the Pro this year but ergonomics and comfort wise, the Pro is so much better for me. Also the battery on the Pro, which was one of my fears about downgrading, has so far been great despite background indexing, playing music, watching videos etc.
I’m glad I made the switch to the Pro from Pro Max overall…you’ll be compromising either way but for me the Pro is the best balance (though it clearly isn’t for others!).

Ah I did the same thing. How are you feeling about the battery? I felt invincible with my 13PM. Now, I feel like a mere mortal
😅Oh this is good to know. I figured the first few hours were heavy on the battery due to backups or indexing or whatever, and I thought that’s over with. But you’re saying it might take a few days to “normalize”?
This is my concern - the battery. You’re not finding that it runs down faster than the Pro Max?
The 12 pro feels small to me now like almost mini size
Early days and of course it won’t last as long as the Pro Max but based on the past 24 hours or so it should last me an actual full day which is all I really need.
Went from X to 14 Pro purple. Wasn’t happy with the colours nor the size, my fingers kept getting in the way of the giant camera bump and spoiling my shots. Just returned the 14 Pro and picked up 14PM in gold, but haven’t tried it out yet…
Ended up going from the 13 Pro to a 14 Pro Max. Quite happy with it for now - battery is insane!

I would give it time like others have said.
On a side note, I have noticed a reduction in battery performance on my existing 12 Pro, might be an issue or glitch with 16.0/16.0.1.
One thing to note too, I forget where I read this but there was something mentioning a reduction in battery that was solved by disabling the weather widgets from the lock screen. Personally I like having it there but apparently, it is always updating and gathering location information, definitely worth a shot disabling it if you have it active.
This exact topic is a frustration for me every year because I way overthink this. Always had the Plus phones since the 6, with the X obviously only one choice. Went back to the Max with the XS but started hating the size. Tried the 12 Pro but battery was horrendous, so ended up with the 12 Pro Max. With the 13 series I went with the Pro Max and then switched a few months later but again it came down to battery and I switched back to the Pro Max only a month after that. I have the 14 Pro Max now but also picked up a 14 Pro as well. I may keep both and just switch between them as I see fit. I really feel like a 6.3-6.4” screen size from Apple would be a really good sweet spot.
Sounds like for you the pro max will win out since battery life is real important to ya judging from past habits
