It's actually narrower than the S22 ultra now which got me curious as I was ok with that.

Unsure. I had the standard 13 Pro last year, and switched to the 14 Pro Max this year. The 14 Pro Max feels surprisingly
balanced but it can feel somewhat fatiguing with extended use for me personally.

I believe the XS Max was at the pinnacle of the weight threshold I prefer, as I remember not fully enjoying the 11 Pro Max weight either after spending a year with it.

I am enjoying the larger display of the 14 Pro Max and consuming content quite a bit better, but like with everything, there's trade offs.

Think you’ll stick with the pro max ?

(I just posted this in another thread, but thought it was relevant here)

Add me to the list of people returning my 14 Pro Max. It goes back tonight.

I was an 11 Pro to 14 Pro Max upgrade, which I was super-excited about. Previously I had an 8+ which I loved, so I didn't think the 14PM (size-wise) would be that big of an issue. I even went to the Apple Store (before the 14PM went on order) to see the 13PM, trying to get a feel for it. Boy was that different than actually owning the thing for a few days.

I'm 6'3. I teach yoga. I'm athletically fit, and do strength training exercises every day. And god damn do I hate the 14PM. I live in an urban environment, and walk just about everywhere, and the phone is just an ever-present nuisance.

I totally understand the size & weight not being an issue for some. And yes, it's a lovely, powerful phone, with a beautiful screen. But the actual day-to-day use of it, hands-on, and in-pocket, I absolutely hated. And there's no way I would have known that without having real-world usage of the thing. So thank you Apple for allowing your customers to get a feel for something they're about drop $1200 on. I'll end up with a different model, but stay loyal.

(ps for those in a similar position, I just transferred my eSIM back to my 11 Pro with the click of a few buttons, easy-peasy. Took two minutes.)

One of the tests for me is if I am walking down the street how comfortable would I be taking the phone out and using it. With the 13pm and S22 ultra I would hesitate, I'll wait till I get home or stop. With the 13pro or standard S22 it does not even cross my mind.

I don't use a case btw if that's relevant.

good input are you going to the 14 pro?

Very happy with my 14 Pro Space Black 256Gb, came from a 13 Pro 128Gb, I wanted more memory this time round but it wasn’t really a need, i just felt it was time to move up to the next memory level and I will stay with 256Gb iPhones from here on.
I love the Dynamic Island, a cool way to use a space that’s not been usable (till now) it’s much better than the static notch that just sits there doing nothing at all, and of course the camera is a nice upgrade (more so shooting RAW), also I love the black colour, I’ve been waiting for a black pro for a while (I loved the i7 jet black), so all in all I’m happy, it’s a beautiful device.

Adam.

yes, the black is stunning!

I was very close to getting the deep purple pro. I’ve had the max series of phones for years as well and I just couldn’t bring myself to downsize

256GB space black pro max for me at the end of the day. I like my decision
It’s hard once you are used to wider screen …

I got the 12 Pro Max, and it was just uncomfortably large for my hands. I really wanted to like it. The screen was beautiful, but in the end, I just didn't. I've since had a 13 Pro and now a 14 Pro and I find the size much better, so I don't even bother to covet the larger phones any more.

I wouldn’t go no smaller than the Pro Max size. At other times I find myself wishing it was a little bigger. I’ve been using Plus/Pro Max phones since the 6+ and had the X for 18 months and hated typing on it. Never again will I go smaller than 6.7”

Went from Pro to Pro max for the first time. Wow! I’m loving it. Much easier to read text on the screen and the battery life wipes the floor with the Pro.
It’s not as cumbersome as I thought. The weight is.. heavy but no more annoying than the Pro.
I’m very happy with my decision.

Get an iPad mini or something. If the max became any bigger it would no longer be a phone.
