Went from Pro to Pro max for the first time. Wow! I’m loving it. Much easier to read text on the screen and the battery life wipes the floor with the Pro.
It’s not as cumbersome as I thought. The weight is.. heavy but no more annoying than the Pro.
I’m very happy with my decision.
1 week is hard to tell, that can change over the course of a year with more use cases, I love my 13 max but the weight gets tiring in the pocket.

I sent my iPhone 14 Pro back for replacement. And while I wait for the new unit, I wonder if I'd like a Pro Max.

Male, medium sized hands.

When I see pictures or unboxing, I don't always recognize if it's a Pro or a Max.

I will have to go check it in an Apple Store and make a decision.

I'm very happy with my 14 Pro. I had a 7 Plus way back when and found it to just be too big to comfortably fit in my pocket. Ever since then I get the Pro size phones.

This year I pre-ordered both 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, and after using each phone as a daily driver, I am keeping the 14 Pro Max and returning the 14 Pro.

The problem is the battery life. As a heavy user, I need a piece of mind of a full day battery life, and that's only possible with the Max model. And of course, extra real estate is something nice to have.

I considered going pro max after getting a 13 pro at release last year. In the spring though, I sold my pro and got a 13 mini. I knew I was going to upgrade this fall with the notch going away, so I thought it would be fun to try a mini for a while.

I got a 14 pro delivered on Friday, but since my local store had stock, I ordered a pro max for pickup, figuring I’d go in the store before my pickup and make up my mind.

Honestly, the weight was not very different, but in the end I kept the regular pro. And truthfully, I miss the mini.

I LOVE the pro, with the DI over the notch, and the larger screen, and I even seem to get better cellular signal out here, in spots where I’d lose service, but gosh I miss the size/weight of the mini. If it weren’t for the positives I’m seeing, I would definitely return it and keep my mini. Even with all the pros (no pun intended), I’m struggling a little. I know I’ll get used to the weight over time, but right now that mini is fresh in my mind. ;-p

I think either extremities have their perks

mini is so comfortable and light

the max is so immersive and has great overhead on battery life

with a pop socket I think the max is a lot more wield-able than people give credit for. even with a magsafe wallet hump to rest your finger under

there is weight fatigue for me, particularly in bed but the screen is so big in use that resting it on my belly or something while laying down doesnt force me to have to raise my head and neck to see everything on the screen. I think I can cope. I do understand really active people hating the brick in their pocket, though like previous mentioned comments. not really an issue for me, would I like it to melt into my pocket more though? absolutely .

so far im enjoying the max route. I wouldn't consider a 14 pro since too same-y to my eyes next to a 12 pro for overall vibes

it would be mini or max. come to think of it, $430 for a 12 pro trade in and $599 for a mini.... would be kinda nice to have max And mini ... hmmmm.. lol

for whatever reason, the non-120hz display of 12 pro is now more jarring to me than my 60hz se2 LED screen. I dont get it but the ProMotion has spoiled me a bit.

I also won the panel lottery with this 14PM. its a marked improvement from my quite good (Samsung confirmed display) 12 Pro. Outdoor brightness is fantastic too, colors pop more, less green-ish hue vibes in fact not really seeing any hue tbh, maybe if I try real hard its biased towards a slight bit more red but to my eyes just looks a lot better though and like a generational display leap.

I totally agree. The max, for me, would be a great device for reading on in bed - never have been able to make a mini work quite right for that, and my iPP is just too big. Honestly, with my Loopy cases, I have pretty good control over the larger, heavier phones, but the weight just gets to be too much after a while, although I think to myself that it’s literally just half a pound - that shouldn’t wear me out. ;-p

Battery life is not really an issue for me at all. I’m home most of the time, and when I leave my house, I generally have nearly an hour before I get where I’m going, so my phone charges while plugged into CarPlay. The pro is a huge difference battery-wise over the mini, so going max for that wasn’t really necessary.

I considered 14 plus to get the size without the weight, but what I really wanted was to lose the notch. I feel like if I’m not doing that, I should just be keeping my mini.

lots of mini users going to 14 pro it seems... cant beat battery life

Well, actually this user is going back to the mini. I have decided I’m returning my 14 pro after all.

As much as I love it, and love almost everything about it, I miss the light weight and easy handling of the mini more. I honestly can’t believe I’m sticking with a phone that has a notch, but apparently size really does matter. ;-p

For now ;) haha

Wow! Well whatever is best for you! Just watch that battery :)

At first I really liked the size/weight of the 14 Pro, but after using it for a few days I’m thinking of switching to the 14 Pro Max. The Pro seems like it may be a little too big to fully use with one hand but not quite big enough to use with two hands. It still feels hefty to me so if that’s going to be the case I’d rather get a bigger screen and better battery life. Plus I’m noticing that I’m having to hold the phone closer than I did with the 13 PM so it seems like my eyes would prefer the larger screen.

14 Pro Space Black - No regrets on staying with the Pro, the Max size is too large for how I like to use my phone. Actually, I wish Apple had stayed with the 5.8" device size of the 11 Pro...for me that was perfect....but the 6.1" is workable too.

I am currently still have the 11 pro max. How does the size and weight compare from that to the 14 pro max? I assume it will be quite a bit heavier with that 12/13/14 pro design alone vs the 11 design.

The Max is undoubtedly nicer to use when stationary, but at home or on long commutes I have an iPad. When I’m using my iPhone I’m looking for the most portable solution I have. I can use the iPhone 14 Pro one-handed (just barely) and that’s important to me.

I had an 11 pro max and got the 14 pro max launch day. I am very happy with my decision and have no complaints with the phone or features. I think the camera is phenomenal and me being creative, I love that I now have a phone in my pocket this is just as good ( if not better) than my actual mirrorless and DSLR cameras. Still blows my mind that I can get pro raw photos and pro-res video on a device in my pocket.

The dynamic island is great as well as the battery life. Again, a worthy upgrade if you are coming from an older iPhone. I can't say it's worth upgrading if you have the iPhone 13 pro though.
