Yeah, I went with the 11” iPad Pro because I think that’s the perfect size for a true tablet. To me, a tablet is meant to be held in the hands. I found the 13” iPad cumbersome to hold for any length of time. At a desk it’s fine. And the extra screen space may appeal to many, but for me the 11” works better as a tablet.

I personally prefer the 11 Inch myself. I bought the 13 inch because I was using it for work and it was great, but it’s a lot for lounging and even travel it’s a bit cumbersome.

Now that work banned us from using personal devices I wish I had the smaller screen. The only time I take advantage of the big screen is art apps (which I rarely have time for anymore) and as a second screen for my laptop.

I am using combo of 11” iPad and MBA 15”. 11” for reading and casual browsing, 15” for serious works. It works great for me.

I have had both, 12.9” M1 and now the 11” M4, and for the things I use an iPad, the 11“ is just way better.

- For any kind of “tablet-first” use cases, the 13” is just too cumbersome - reading books, browsing web, watching videos, the smaller iPad is just so much more convenient
- Due to different aspect ratios, the videos in landscape ended up being only slightly smaller than on the larger 13”
- With the Magic Keyboard, the 13” felt really cumbersome and top-heavy. The smaller iPad is so much nicer to lug around with the MK
- Multitasking is not really the iPad’s strongest suit due to the limitations of iPadOS, so the extra screen real estate fell flat for me for that purpose, as I feel iPad is still a single task machine at it‘s core
- I already have a 14” laptop for work purposes so another device with almost the same screen si e felt redundant

I, as others in this thread have done, have gone from a 12.9” M1 iPad Pro to an 11“ M4 iPad Pro. It has changed how I used it somewhat. The 11” is much more usable as a tablet so I find myself reading news articles, magazines (on my roommates Apple One plan) much more by taking it off the Magic Keyboard. I admit I miss the bigger size for movies sometimes, but honestly with the aspect ratio of the now 13” iPad is different so the bars on the top and bottom are bigger.

I feel that if you buy the 12.9/13 inch you set yourself up for buying a computer instead of a tablet. I bought the 11 inch pro with cellular (for the first time) and MKB - it is simply amazing. Cause of the size I am often tempted to take it out and use it like a tablet whereas I would rarely take my 12.9 out of the MKB. It’s the best size fits all - for many tasks like browsing, reading, annotating and typing. Unless you are dead set on getting the biggest screen I would not recommend the 12.9/13. I would recommend paying for cellular instead of the extra screen size.

I have just gone from an M1 12.9 inch to an 11 inch M4.

I bought the 12.9 inch M1 iPad Pro at launch with the Magic Keyboard. This was following a LOT of research YouTube videos, posts on this forum & Reddit of people discussing 12.9 vs 11. I also visited the Apple shop multiple times and tried both.

I’m someone who loves screen real estate on my devices, I have always had an iPhone Pro Max and have an ultrawide monitor for my Mac Mini. Therefore I settled on the 12.9 inch. After receiving it, and for the whole time I owned the device, I did love it and the screen real estate was very nice. My main use case was editing photos on lightroom and browsing, and I almost always had the Magic Keyboard attached. The device was fairly large but I did think the posts about it not being portable were over blown. When I travelled I didn’t take the keyboard and just put it in the folio case, and it was fine.

However, now that I have been using the 11 inch M4 since launch, I have to admit I prefer the 11 inch a lot more. It’s such a nice size and feels like a mini laptop, but the perfect size and very portable. When I first got it, I did struggle with how small it felt, but I does not take long to get used to & I will likely be sticking to the 11 inch going forward. The best way to know which one you prefer is to try both and see how they work for your use case in real life scenarios.
