I've been using it since DP3 on my machine and no serious problem so far. Its weird that some folks complain about Safari but for me Safari is working great.

I am using Yosemite since DP3 as my main system. Even VMWare Fusion works, so I am happy with it. Didn't have a single crash, only Safari had some issues, but 99% of the time everything works great for me.All of my apps work fine.

Installed Yosemite over my Mavericks installation on my main (and only) machine, and it's been great so far. A couple minor bugs here and there, but nothing debilitating. Looking forward to the next public beta release to see which bugs are squashed!

Not on my main machine because I use it for school and can't afford to lose assignments. Can't wait to see how it runs on my late-13 rMBP as opposed to my 09 MBP :)

I have Yosemite on a partition and expected to use it purely for testing.. In fact I'm finding that apart from one or two minor glitches, it runs as well as or better than, Mavericks. Add to that, I love the appearance and features like handoff and iCloud Disk and I'm now using Yosemite exclusively.

My guess is that it's going to be a hit!

I am using it on my main computer, a Late 2011 15'' Macbook Pro. I use Safari, iTunes, Messages, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Mail, and a lot of other apps. I have no problems.

I'm too chicken to install it on my main MBP. I have iOS 8 beta on my iPad, but that can easily be returned to normal. My Mac however, I'm not too fluent on how to save it if something goes wrong. So, better not mess it up.

So I dug my old 2011 MBP out of the closet and loaded Yosemite on that. It's slow, but it works. I occasionally check things out. But I always end up reverting back to my 2013 MBP for daily computing. It's hard to beat that SSD.

How many people using Yosemite on there main System?

Yosemite might become my defacto fav for a long time, but it needs to be released first and then bugfixed several times. It is to Mavericks what Mountain Lion was to Lion and Snow Leopard to Leopard -- and yes, IMO the latest really stable version is 10.8.4

after month(s) of self-debating (I am the master at that) I finally took the plunge and installed on my Macbook Pro.....so far so good. The main reason I went ahead and did it was that since I am not in school anymore I dont use my macbook for anything other than recreation. If it was a work or school computer I probably would hold off......but with what little I do on it I can take the risk......I also have everything important backed up to dropbox!

We've become a risk averse, litigious society so Apple couldn't advise people to just use their common sense about installing a Yosemite beta. They had to recommend the most cautious possible approach. Clearly, no one should be running a beta test on a mission-critical system, but for many of us a botched system would not be a real disaster. And how better to beta test than to use it for everything on your primary system? Everything important to me is backed up both in Time Machine and on the Cloud, I have an admin account on my wife's Mac, and I have an iPad for recreational Internet use. The worst that could happen to me is a day of annoyance. My "recovery" plan is a USB installer for Yosemite. I wouldn't go back to Mavericks even if Yosemite hosed my computer.

I guess part of this is that I am an old-timer who did beta testing of Windows 95 back in the day. It was installed on my only computer and running it was like playing Halo on "heroic" - you'd get killed every few minutes. By comparison Yosemite is rock solid. Other than a longer than normal boot time I see no signs that DP5 isn't just about GM ready.

I don't keep any docs on my HDs...everything is on my NAS, so I can afford (and actually enjoy) starting from scratch, it takes me about 3-3.5hrs to reinstall the OS and all my proggies so I've done all my macs and I'm running 10.10 DP5 on all of them....no major issues and no regrets. Looking forward to doing the final version and starting over again once the final version is out.

I agree. Though 10.8.5 is fine. Never liked Mavericks, a lot of bugs are solved by now, but it feels unfinished with its indecisive design - grey backgrounds instead of linen, skeuomorphism gone in some apps, but still present on others, oversaturation of colors etc. Yosemite looks much better and most importantly consistent, but still needs a lot of polishing, i doubt i will install any of the betas, waiting untill final release.;)

I have completely moved my production machine to Yosemite yesterday, by performing a clean install. There are some minor annoyances, but so far everything I need seems to work. Let's hope that this was not a mistake :D

My install went like this:

CCC of 10.9.4 onto another spare empty drive
boot to that drive to confirm everything ok
run a disk drive check on drive intending on installing 10.10
then install 10.10 onto said drive

i have had no worries swapping between 10.10 or 10.9.4, no nvidia web drivers for 10.10 yet as expected but everything running ok really, iTunes doesn't work in 10.9.4 properly anymore as i upgraded my library in 10.10 (i know there is a hack for this but I'm not worried)

I'm using 10.10 PB1 daily on my main machine and its 'OK' but thats not to say that others art having problems, its a risk but with a bootable clone of your drive you have some fall back.

I just partitioned my main machine and installed it separately from all of my data, but have been using it 99% of the time without any issues.
