I have clean installed OS X Yosemite as my main system yesterday. In fact, I did install OS X Yosemite over OS X Mavericks 5 days ago, but decided to go full on OS X Yosemite with a clean install.
Yosemite comes at a price to me, thought it is "unbelievably free". I have had to give up iCloud, since my iPhone doesn't support iOS 8. I also have let go of couple of third-party apps (Forklift and Copy) that don't support OS X Yosemite yet, but I wish they did. In line with a minimalism idea behind Yosemite, I have decided to install a maximal minimum of third-party apps.
I don't like blurry "blueish" icons in Finder, as well as thin fonts throughout the system. I do hope that, just like with iOS 7, OS X Yosemite will get clearer fonts and darker colors, or at least will offer iOS 7 options like "Darken colors" and "Reduce white point".
Two things I like most in OS X Yosemite so far: Spotlight (which has replaced Alfred 2 for me) and Safari (which is really fast, as reported).
However, I treat OS X Yosemite as a fresh start without unnecessary extras.

I've been using it since the first DP as well.

I set up a separate partition for it, (not sure why no one else is doing it) making sure to not do anything sensitive in it.

When 10.10.0 is released, I will wipe this partition, expand the other one, and do a complete install.

I'm using the iOS 8 DP 5 as well, which is slightly buggier (it was worse earlier) but Handoff is kind of magical. Beat that, Microsoft.

I'm using DP5 on my only machine and iOS 8 beta 5 on both my iPhone 5S and iPad Mini. I enjoy the beta process. The bugs don't bother me. If it works, it works, if not, oh well, it will eventually.

I've been using this on my "primary" cMBP since the Public Beta came out. I love it and only have a few issues that I've reported. I say "primary" because my Mac at home is for fun and not work. So, if it tanks, I just have to go through the annoyance of restoring from Time Machine. I write and test software as a hobby not as a career...

Nope. I've installed it in a VM to test my apps, and to have access to the new version of Safari to ensure that everything works in that come release.

I'd never install a beta/preview on a production machine - any time spent dealing with issues reduces productivity.

I'm using 10.10 on all my machines without any particular issue. Minor bugs are present, but only a few are really annoying. Hope to see all of them fixed by Public Beta 2

10.10 is amazing! I've been using it on my rMBP since late june, and I even installed the Public Beta on my grandma's MacBook. She even loves it. 10.10 is ready form prime time as far as I can see, there are a few crashes but most of it is developers that need their apps updated.

You shouldn't be installing a beta on your grandmas laptop!

I have not yet, the thing stopping me is Parallels and Little Snitch. I will probably have to wait until it is officially released.

Re: Little Snitch, the author released a beta build for Yosemite and it's worked perfectly, both in PB1 and DP5.

Yeah, she wanted it though. It's a 2008 MacBook, with 2gb of ram so it's slow as crap on Yosemite. She ordered some more ram for it. The nice thing about the old Macs is that they can be upgraded!

I've updated my cMBP late 2012 from Mavericks 10.9.4 to Yosemite as my daily driver. Parallels 9 works almost perfect. The only problem that I have is when to export file to Excel from Parallels. It just open an blank worksheet. However, when I export to excel from browser, it works. Probably just need to wait until Parallels has been updated to fully support Yosemite.

Another problem I have is I can't find any working Yahoo Messenger clients. Official YM has not been updated to support Yosemite, Adium can connect to Gtalk but not YM, Trillian crashed when I tried to add a new account.

Aside from YM problem, I haven't encounter any problem :)

Have you tried 'increasing contrast' under Accessibility options ? That should darken the colors and reduce white point.

I've had the public beta on my main system since it was released (well technically, a day after it was released due to the US west coast server fiasco). No issues here. Like I said before, a lot of folks here are just being drama queens.

I tried, but it is not the same as "darken colors" or "reduce white point". I also keep "increase contrast" off on my iPhone.
