This picture was taken by a friend, but sent to me for HDR. It's dramatically different than the RAW I was sent, but I'm not sure is necessarily a whole lot better. Any thoughts?

Bracketing times?

Is anybody out there doing this with a Nikon D3 in uncompressed formats? I'm wondering how long it takes to capture a 3 or 4-image bracket, and at what interval would the camera be able to maintain a steady rate of brackets?

That is:

bracket one (three exposures) - ?wait interval? - bracket two (three exposures) - ?wait interval? - etc......

I think there could be some very interesting uses for HDR time-lapse lanscapes, flower blooms, etc.

HDR Photography - Let's see what YOU GOT!

Here's my first HDR taken in the middle of the road. Three shots HDR merged and the setting were a pain in the butt after that but i hope you enjoy. If you need advice message me.

re-edited Palace Shot

Thanks for the positive responses on the Palace shot.
I've corrected the tilt, cropped to remove the person walking around, added some punch to the marque, and darkened the sky a touch. let me know if you like the improvements. The tilt was difficult because i think the chimney is normally crooked, plus the streets on the sides are both sloped. strange i know, but thats why i like it.

WOW! You guys have been taking some INCREDIBLE pictures!

I do suck at photography... but I am trying... I wondered what Photomatrix could do to some underwater pics... here is how it turned out:

great HDR article

New to this forum and learning about HDR... wonderful examples in this thread.

I came across this article which I believe anyone interested in learning, or thinking about learning could benefit from reading. If this has been posted before, I appologize in advance. A pdf file is available for downloading.

Hope to be posting a few examples soon...

I really like the B&W HDR, but I can never get it to look quite right. Are you starting with B&W, or do you desaturate while processing? It looks like you would have to start with B&W, but I can't tell for sure.

I just got the equipment to set up my darkroom. I was thinking of doing some HDR starting with film. I'll be shooting B&W 120 and scanning to TIFF. It may be a while before I get anything decent. I've never processed film before.

here are some of my first attempts

I see that even though using HDR from the camera and photomatix it is good to go back in photoshop, dodge and burn areas and highlight others to get great effects.
