The log-in page is heavy on security. It won't work with Safari for Snow Leopard. You'll have to use a more modern browser, like the one I gave you.
It doesnt work with any browser. Ive used multiple browsers on it including chrome

Did you use the browser link I gave you? Did you use Dayo's link and use that browser? None of the big name browsers are being supported for Snow Leopard anymore. Smaller browsers, like TenfourFox, should work because they are being updated.

Think of your Mac Pro as being a car from the 1910's. Can it get you from point A to point B? Yes it can. But it requires a lot of work to use and maintain, and most people would have no idea how to use or maintain it.

Try to avoid installing stuff from random sites. Can you not save to a usb stick from another machine and move it across?

That old Mac version does not understand the new https protocols. I use TenFourFox for SnowLeopard: https://sourceforge.net/projects/tenfourfox/. You probably will not be able to visit the https site on the unit to get it though. I had recent MacOS versions on my MP31 so I was able to download with one of those when I decided to go back to installing old versions.

As others have pointed out though, Your 18 year old MP11 is now just a hobby project thing. You need to move on to something else that supports what you want to use. Perhaps try an 18 year old PC if you can find one.
Yes an old pc would be leaps and bounds better than a Mac machine. I have an old pc running XP that is better than this 40lb paperweight

I bet it is not 18 years old but either way, why not just use that and save your time along with that of everyone else?

No, im not in the mood to mess with that hunk o junk right now
Sadly, NONE of the common browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome) will "work" on Snow Leopard You'll need special web browsers to access HTTPS websites and to get access to that login page.

Either use those browsers, or don't use those browsers and don't have access to the webpage.

Unless that website has older versions of the software for download (which *might* be a possibility), he's going to be in for an unpleasant surprise when it doesn't install :(

say f@$k apple and all their products

LOL, its Apple's fault you can't use a 17 year old machine to do what your 7 year old HP is now annoyingly slow at?

Im not a mac guy

My firat, and definitely last Mac

Considering it was never your intention to give a Mac a fair trial I don't know what to tell you.

editing videos

You seriously want to edit video on a 17 year old machine?

Up to this point ive been using a 7 year old HP laptop to record, and its junk...but it works. Its just slow and takes an eternity to open any programs.

Then why do you expect a machine that is 10 years older than that to perform better?

I have an oooold pc running XP that i can still use if i want.

So use it.

Yes ive come to realize the inferiority of apple products with any age on them.

Skeptical hippo is.... skeptical. Many people here are trying to help you but I don't think you have realistic expectations.

Have fun loading Windows 11 on a 2006 PC. You might get it installed but it will be painful, using it will be worse.

Old is relative. The 2015 laptop I am typing on now is old but an MP11 is in the ancient spectrum of old.

Anyway, you sought and got advice on what the MacPro is capable of doing. You can accept the advice or rant about it instead but that unit will not run software that requires drivers that are only supported on macOS 10.14 Mojave regardless.

I missed that part :O .

IF he has the appropriate, period related software (Adobe whatever was around then? Apple Final Cut Studio?) AND he has the appropriate videos (1080P will be the absolute limit) and the appropriate RAM (16 GB?)? Go for it. Import videos from a recent iPhone and edit those?

*Shudder*

It had imovie editor on it already, plenty of ram and the movies are shot on a galaxy and gopro. I wouldnt dream of wasting money on an iphone. But its all moot now as ive upgraded the os to windows and can use the machine again.

I'm following this thread/post just to see if that company has drivers/ software for his machine. They have a drop down box for old software, and it does include options for Panther :)O), but there are no links for software for Panther.

So you wiped the Mac Pro 1,1, and in 12 minutes installed a working Window 10 system?

Screenshot please. It's a pain in the neck to install Windows 10 on a Mac Pro 1,1 because you have to use VMWare Fusion.

https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...allation-no-bootloaders-or-efi-hacks.1905564/

Or care to share your instructions on how you did that?
Open bootcamp, partition the drive, download windows 10 iso onto usb 2.0, run bootcamp, install windows, set it up as usual. Very simple

Then you either do not have a Mac Pro 1,1 OR you're trolling OR you're not finished installing. There's a 32/64 bit issue with the machine that requires a lot of work arounds for Windows 10 to work correctly under bootcamp and for it to boot.

How do I know? I have a Mac Pro 1,1 myself as well.

Will I send you the links? Nope. Because I don't want you to come back with a rebuttal.

Ive already replaced the battery. The size of the machine is inconsequential as i ha e plenty of space in my studio..and i will never use Dell, they sucks which is why my pc's are linux.
To be clear, I wasn't suggesting a replacement PC has to be Dell. There seem to be several brands to choose from on Amazon, including HP and Lenovo.

Not sure what using Linux has to do with hating Dell though. Dell even sells Linux-based machines themselves.

Because why buy ANOTHER machine when i have sitting around not being utilized? Why not ask people who know aboit this apple garbage and see if it can be modernized rather than throwing it in the garbage? I know you Apple people are used to them making your expensive equipment useless after a few short years and have been conditiined to just waste money on a pointless new product every year, but i refuse to do that. I like things with longevity. I have an oooold pc running XP that i can still use if i want. Too bad the sane cant be said for apple products, obsoloeted after a few years. Ridiculous. Maybe come down off that high horse of yoirs and understand that not everyone is a sucker who will regularly set their money on fire for absolutely no reason other than to puff out their chest and wave their "new" devices around that arent any different from the last 2 generations.

There are Mac computers out there from the Windows XP era that are just as useful as that Windows XP machine is - that is, they can't get critical security updates, don't have a proper way to browse the web anymore, are horribly slow, and have failing or close-to-failing parts. Just like those old Windows XP computers, there are still people who occasionally find a use for them. I mentioned my iMac G3 earlier. That machine first came out in 1998. There's even an entire forum on here for PowerPC Macs, which were discontinued the same year your Mac Pro came out. And while Apple releases new Macs every year these days, almost nobody actually buys a new Mac every single year, and the ones who do get ridiculed on here for doing it (unless they have a system going where they sell their old one as part of the plan).

We Mac users know our machines are expensive, and that we could get a Windows machine with similar specs for less money. We choose not to do that because we feel, for various reasons, that owning a Mac is worth the extra cost to us. It's very much like your aversion to Dell computers. You know you can get a Dell really cheap but turn the offer down because you don't want to use a Dell. Similarly, we know we can get a Windows computer really cheap but we turn the offer down because we don't want to use Windows. It has nothing to do with setting money on fire.

I also really don't think you should throw this thing in the garbage (or "unload multiple magazines into it" as you suggested earlier) if you ultimately can't make use of it for anything yourself. That would be sad and wasteful. I'd suggest instead you find a way (eBay, Craigslist, asking around locally, etc.) to get it in the hands of someone who will enjoy and appreciate it for what it is in a way you clearly can't.

Heres the rub, the presonus page loads fine. I can scroll and access all areas of it EXCEPT the log in page where all my software downloads are.
Maybe you can download the setup on another computer and upload it to a file sharing service so you can download it to your Mac Pro that way. Or your could use a flash drive to transfer it. If your Snow Leopard is older than 10.6.5 you will want to make sure the flash drive is formatted in FAT32 or NTFS. Otherwise it can also be formatted in exFAT.
