Yea we have to end this. THE BUILD NUMBER IS THE SAME. YOU DO NOT NEED TO UPDATE TO ANOTHER 3.0.

If you were competent enough to figure out how to get 3.0 GM then I assume that you are competent enough to understand a build number and realize that the newly released 3.0 matches the build number of the GM. So stop worrying! What do you think they put on the 3G S? The 3.0 GM

That's funny, because I'm currently running the 3.0GM and it seems to be running not as fast as it should be.

i mean no matter what apple has proven to have done in the past or whatever the definition of GM is, until an actual Apple software developer who worked on 3.0 until its final release can tell us that it's exactly the same, no one can say that they're 100% certain it's exactly the same.

i mean we're talking absolute certainty here, not absolute belief.

.... noob

Can someone put up the direct link to the download? I'm running 3.0 beta (not the GM) and iTunes keeps saying I'm running the current version even though the build is listed as 7A312g

I could go get the GM from the developer site, but I'd rather get the file released today ... I know ... same build ... whatever

please just post link! :)

....Again, noob (FOR THE LAST TIME, THE GM IS THE SAME AS THE FINAL RELEASE. IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE GM, YOUR SET)

If you don't want to help then why bother taking the time to make a post like that ... calling people noob over the internet sure is awesome huh!

oh and ... you're* :)

I just installed Firefox 3.5b4 and I hear there will be a different 3.5b4 next week with new features.

He posted he knows that but wants the full version just to be safe.

Thanks, thought it was pretty clear, but some people like to get all riled up and TYPE IN CAPS!!! :)

I mean, iTunes isn't working so I have to DL and do a restore anyway so I might as well do it with the same file everyone else is using ... is that really so flame worthy?

It is not the same because with 3.0gm you can enable tethering. I did it with AT&T via a profile patch and it works perfect. Users that were in my shoes tethering on AT&T installed todays 3.0 update and can no linger patch with profile to tether.... So I'm sticking to my 3.0GM I've had for a week!!!!

you can patch it the same way that the GM was patched, it is the same damn one. Itunes final is what took away the ability to update the IPPC file....so either install the beta itunes again (read the gazzilion threads on it) or do the following -

On a Mac just start Terminal (Applications > Utilities) and type

"defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE"

no qutoes.

not true I've had the final iTunes since it came out and recently patched gm version just fine. Once I update to the 3.0 just released the patch won't work

Here is what I gathered from a site:

here are the CheckSUM MD5:
812DA3DA0BA98A7991FF6F09FD6B8002 *iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw from Apple TODAY
&
75427718093CE59F00DBBFF359BAC4AE *iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw from APPLE GM on June 9th.

Can someone check and confirm?
