As reported by multiple sources, the iPhone 16 Pro (codename Diablo) and iPhone 16 Pro Max (codename Lightning) will have larger displays, measuring in at 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, up from 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches.

Codename Lightning you say … EXCLUSIVE: iPhone 16 Pro Max to go back to a Lightning port, amid public outcry.

You heard it here first.

dont want taller but I want it more wide so screen feels bigger
THIS. If I were to make a switch from my current daily driver, I'd want something somewhat more tablet in shape but without being pocket un-friendly sized like the iPad Mini.

Damn, another year of that atrocious island?!!? Was hoping they would have figured out an under screen camera by now. I know there is a lot of extra hardware with face ID that they have to worry about.

“Under screen camera” can be filed alongside fusion energy and time travel machines in the “totally realistic technology that is coming really soon now” category.

While lovely, iterative designs, I doubt at least the camera pack will look like that.

My guess- and it's pure personal speculation- is that the pack itself will evolve to put the dual 48-megapixel cameras at roughly average eye distance apart to maximize the "spatial video" capture. Yes, that could easily mean ending up with the 3 lenses in a row or column 48-X-48... or just a somewhat widened triangular shape.

Take a 15, line up one lens to your own eye (or use glasses if you have them as the gauge), close that eye and see if the other eye is perfectly aligned with the other lens. For most adults, my guess is probably not. It will be aligned with somewhere between your eyes... probably the bridge of your nose.

I think "spatial" shot with the 15 will be amazing to see on Vpro, but they are limited to 1080p vs. 4K Vpro lenses... and shot without the 2 cameras at average eye width spacing. Twin 48-megapixel cameras will presumably make 4K-per-eye possible... and adjusted spacing will deliver the spatial effect as good as it can be captured.

That's my "think different" wild guess with nothing to back it up except the assumption that Apple will want the new "baby" to hit another gear after the next iPhone releases... and all turned on to spatial when Vpro is in the wild coveting the huge leap forward to 4K per eye (thus a very tangible reason for even iPhone 15 owners to "upgrade" to 16, even if they don't own a Vpro at the time... but anticipate getting one eventually).

TBD. 🤞

As far as colors are concerned, Apple's prototypes use a "Silver" color, which is marketed by Apple as "White Titanium." Documentation suggests that Apple has so far used the existing colors from the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max for testing purposes, with plans to add another color option. Unfortunately, there are no details on the new color option at this time.
I want better iPhone 16 color choices than iPhone 15 color choices. Make it more fun to own one visually.

What exactly would you like them to do?
A book style foldable that combines the iPad mini and phone in a single form factor would be amazing though I know foldables haven’t reached Apples level of interest. Even just adding Dex-like functionallity to the slab phone or Apple Pencil support would be more additive than a dedicated video capture button which simply duplicates the virtual button that already exists in the camera app…

I wish they'd consider making a round one tho. I like the more traditional look of a round watch.
