If you go on the Apple website rather than use the Apple store app it says on there that this space black is limited availability and it comes with a black Hermès sports band

I ordered a Ceramic and Hermes. This might be the year I leave Hermes. So disappointed with the new bands...i agree
If you read the text, it's not 100% clear whether the black SS is available for a limited time, or the availability of it with the special packaging.
I mean, pretty sneaky if they're speaking only of the packaging, but...
Also, a "black Hermes sport band." Really? That seems like a cop out. I mean I have my Hermes orange one already, and maybe SBSS + orange = too much Halloween. I don't know how I feel about that.

ive been waiting to get hermes this series because i want the watch faces that match my hermes bands from the past two seasons. esp with AOD it's worth it. maybe the band will look prettier in person

Yeah the silver lugs + black SS has always been a problem if you prowl the non-Hermes threads about the SBSS model. OTOH it looks really killer with many of the sport band colors. I'm torn.
Just to bump this thought/question about the limited availability of the black SS model vs just the special packaging. And yes I know I'm being a grammar nazi and perhaps pedantic. But, here's the actual text:

As opposed to:
"It’s available for a limited time, with special packaging, and includes an additional black Hermès Sport Band."
That additional comma in the 2nd version would make it clear that the watch itself was available for a limited time, and also included special packaging and the black sport band. The text as-is isn't clear even if we are likely to assume what they mean. And I'm sure that it'll be impossible to get an informed response from anyone at this point.

Yeah, the Space Black Hermes looks great.
I was tempted, but common sense prevailed, I’d end up buying a space black link bracelet to replace my current SS one (which I’ve had since S2). Plus, without seeing it, I don’t imagine my existing single tour deployment buckle would look very good at all with SB.
Too much to give up just for SB, doubly so because I had ZERO intention of getting a Series 5 until the always on display was mentioned. Blasted Apple! Ha.

I'm hoping they release some with Space Black lugs, but not holding my breath.
I bought some third-party Hermès replica bands for my S4 SBSS which I swapped the silver lugs for black ones, but I would not be willing to do that with an actual Hermès band.
Oh, didn't notice it had SB lugs. I might very well, indeed. I have an Apple Classic Buckle I swapped the lugs on, but the buckle is still silver. The Noir has black hardware all around, which I like.
One does wonder though whether they'll release more leather bands with black lugs, or whether this is a one-off. If the watch itself is truly a limited edition, this may be "it." And I'm with you - no way in blazes am I messing with my Hermes bands to swap lugs, especially when the buckle remains SS.
Won't the lugs and buckle be black on the noir though? That's what stopped me. Went with fauve.

Yep, but it doesn’t look too bad on the provided images.
I already own a Fauve deployant clasp, the other straps are out of the question for my tastes, so Noir is the only option for me.
I might sell the Noir strap.

I personally do not think they will look bad. The band are beautiful in themselves. It’s not the lugs that define the look of the Watch, it’s truly the bands themselves!!

The price did go up but the previous price was $99 for AppleCare on the Hermes watches and it is now $149. Still a 1/3 more than last year.

I have wanted an Hermes for the longest time but one thing which always stopped me was that they only had the silver stainless steel case..... My first Apple Watch was the black stainless steel case with the wonderful matching black link bracelet, and when I eventually moved to an Apple Watch Series 3 I happily bought the black stainless steel case again and slipped my existing black link band on it....even as I kind of lusted after an Hermes. Now Hermes and Apple have answered my wishes by providing a black SS case and also black single tour leather band! I can happily also order a Feu, the orange leather band, which I've also wanted for a long time, at last in my size in the single tour..... WOW, I wasn't expecting this to happen!! Just have to do some financial calculating and so on..... Aside from that, I also am attracted to the new Series 5 because of the always-on feature and other features that are not available in my Series 3.
