I'm thinking of buying this. How happy are you with you with your purchase ?Excuse the hairy arm
Both bands included.
I upgraded from series 0 SS to the hermes series 2.I'm thinking of buying this. How happy are you with you with your purchase ?
I upgraded from series 0 SS to the hermes series 2.
Its a nice upgrade. Is it worth $1200? No. Do people even know that you're wearing a special edition Apple watch? No. Only buy it if you'll truly appreciate the quality of the leather band and the watch face designs.
The Hermes leather band is incredible. Its so soft. Its also very fragile so if you live an active lifestyle the band will likely become damaged.
The orange Hermes sport band is cool as well but again, you could probably buy a 3rd party orange band for way less.
If you've got tons of cash laying around and you were thinking about an apple watch then I'd consider it.
If you're on the fence, I'd save a ton of money and just get the SS case with the saddle brown classic buckle for half the price.
I got the applecare+, which is good for 3 years so I'll keep it for 3 years.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Yes and no. The hermes faces are my favorite. The issue with their faces is that they only display the date or another time zone so their compilation support stinks.Great review, thanks for your input.
Do you find yourself sticking with the Hermes watch face?
Feel free to post some pictures, it's always good to see worn examples.
I've found the 42mm leather band to be very similar to my 42mm sport band in regards to sizing and fit along with the position of the pin holes.I am seriously considering buying the 42mm stainless steel Hermès single tour leather band but I'm a female and I'm worried that the leather band on the 42mm is only the larger band size but I'm not sure.
I went to the Apple Store and spoke to them about it. They didn't seem to know for sure . Of course they don't have any to try on and there are no stores around where I live to try one on. I did try on the regular 42mm stainless steel with the Apple leather band and I like the look of the larger watch. My husband thought the 38mm looked better on me but I'm not interested in the 38.
Also, to further expand on my earlier response, I've owned in order:I'm thinking of buying this. How happy are you with you with your purchase ?
That white surround is ruining the aesthetic of Hermes. That look cheapens the watch value. That is the reason why Hermes watch only has SS frame for aesthetic look.I went with the ceramic this time, and could not be happier. I had the SS with the Hermès series 0, but when I saw the ceramic one, I knew I had to have it. My main concern was would it work with my Hermès band, and in my opinion it works well with it.
It remind me of the retro appliances with ceramic and stainless steel.
While I agree with your assessment, if the person loves the look, more power to them. That white surround is ruining the aesthetic of Hermes. That look cheapens the watch value. That is the reason why Hermes watch only has SS frame for aesthetic look.
I haven't really noticed much of a patina yet on mine. I cycle through my 6 bands though.Anyone who has the Hermes edition out there, how's your patina coming along? I've been real gentle with mine so far, tend to wear the orange sport band a lot.
I get what you're saying. I have both and I think the Hermès ST is thinner and softer. The Apple CB is a great band, but it has a "mass produced" quality to it while the Hermès is very much a hand made strap. Can anyone who has worn the classic buckle and the Hermes Single Tour band for a while describe the difference between the two? I remember Apple's original classic buckles being quite underwhelming but I think Apple got it right with the 3rd generation classic buckles as they are really good with the stitching, texture and the variety of colors.
I have a few of the 3rd generation classic buckles and I love them and I wear them regularly. I haven't got a single Hermes band so I am curious to know how much better they are/feel. How does it compare when worn after a couple of months?
I think the best comparison would be with the regular Single Tour that Hermes sells. The Single Tour with the Deployment/Deployant (which is correct?) on the other hand, is on a whole other level.
My opinion: The mass produced effect, or maybe machine produced is a better phrase, is due to the perfection of the CB. Perfectly aligned stitching, beautiful smooth sealed edges, barely noticeable tapering, and consistant appearance of every band. The Hermes ST is absolutely beautiful but there is variation in each strap that you don't find in Apple's bands. The stitching may differ slightly from band to band, the edges are painted/sealed but one side might not look the same as the other one. It's these little things that make a handmade product wonderful. And by no means does it make it any less "perfect" then a product that is cookie cutter produced. Is the "mass produced" quality something that can be "felt" or something that is psychological. As in, does it feel "mass-produced" because you know it was indeed, mass produced. If you didn't know it was mass-produced, would you be able to feel it?
Is the soft and thin texture of the Hermes hand much more comfortable? I'm assuming that it'll last longer/age better than the CB?
It's really little things, honestly. You might even have a difficult time noticing. Just my 2 cents! That's very informative. Thanks for your input. I'll have a look at some of these bands at a local Apple Store to see if I can identify these variations.
So I really want the Hermes AW but I am wondering if there is any reason reason to wait for the series 3. It does not seem like there was much of a difference between the Hermes 1 and 2 other than the sport band inclusion (I think?) so does anyone see a reason to wait? Just looking for opinions, thanks.
I think there are rumours that there may be updates to watch bands in March. So perhaps it is worth waiting till then. As for Series 3, Apple may release it in September this year, or potentially next year. It's hard to say, but the Series 1/2 came out 18 months after Series 0 was launched (though Series 0 was announced a few months before that). So I really want the Hermes AW but I am wondering if there is any reason reason to wait for the series 3. Well there was more of a difference then just the band. Better waterproofing and gps were the main differences, but that applied to the regular Apple Watch series as well. It just comes down to what you want in this product, and if it's worth the money. So I really want the Hermes AW but I am wondering if there is any reason reason to wait for the series 3. i do the same thing, don't really wear one band long enough to show any wear.I haven't really noticed much of a patina yet on mine. I cycle through my 6 bands though.
