Is it worth getting the Hermès and not use their bands. I like the faces, but may not be able to wear the leather bands.

I wear the Apple silicone bands all the time with my Hermes if im around the house all day or its a wet day outside, or sometimes casually out to match things like the pride bands. Even then it still looks great with the SS case over aluminum.

Ended up calling Hermès Miami, and they are now in touch with two boutiques which still carry it. Fingers crossed but this appears to have worked!
Apologies only just saw your previous reply. Yes that's what I did and they were able to tell me which store had it and sent a request to the store. 2 hours later I received an email with a payment link and that was it.

Not a single person in my life who will care about this as much as y’all.

Seems to share the same stitching with the bands and their other leather goods. Finish is fantastic. It’s 80% nylon and 20% polyester, so it should hold up well. It has the most comfortable bill I’ve ever felt in a hat.

And it’s reversible!

I’ve taken a photo next to my lululemon hat because I think the difference in stitching is pretty obvious.

It's a late reply, but I really love that cap.

Only you can really decide if it’s “worth it” since it is your money. You do have a couple of options though:
  1. Buy a Hermès watch with one of the new Jumping Single Tour bands instead of a leather band. Since the Jumping bands are made of nylon, they might help with your skin allergy.
  2. Buy a Hermès with a leather band and then resell the leather band on a site like eBay. You should be able to recover 80-90% of the stand alone price of the band as listed on Apple’s site if you are patient. If you go this route, you will have paid a $200-$300 premium (compared to the price of the regular SS watch) for the two Hermès faces, the Hermès sport band, and an extra year of warranty. Is that worth it? Only you can say!
Also to add to this, you could find a reseller on eBay selling the watch without a leather band. This was the route I took and ended up getting one for slightly less than a regular SS S6 (although it was 6 months after the S6 had been released).

There’s a seller with s5 for $600, down from $650 when I found them. Unclear what the sport band is though.

I always sell my prior Hermes watch minus the Hermes bands for $450-$500 here on the forum when the new model is released. I always include all the original packaging. If you can hang on a few months, my Hermes Series 6 SBSS minus the bands will be up for sale. I always am fair in my pricing because I want someone to enjoy it versus just trading out into Apple. It would have a year left of Apple‘s two-year warranty left on Hermes models. Have sold many times in the forums here. Just a thought.

Sometimes refurbished can just mean “open box with no box”…a shame this seller doesn’t have pics, but generally these eBay wholesalers are no nonsense.
I was lucky with a reseller who had sealed new S6’s, without leather. In place of the leather band box was a plain box to fill the space. The part number sticker on the box also confirmed it was a sport band bundle only, which I didn’t even know was a thing. Lots of due diligence before hand checking serial number etc (he sent lots of photos of the sealed box) and it was all good, never registered. Slapped AC+ on it as soon as it arrived just to be extra safe 😁

Yeah the sport band bundle is the Hermes store. You choose the leather and they throw it in separate. I guess they had to unload some because of covid. Nice come-up!

Have I had a saga to get that Anémone band, or what.

A couple of weeks ago I had tracked one down to Las Vegas, and the Hermès store manager says to me: “normally, we don’t sell to people with whom we have no relationship, but it’s just a watch band. I mean, it’s not JUST a watch band.” He then said he would set it up and sell it to me. Anyway, he never did and in fact ignored my further calls. Really rude!

So anyway, I tracked the band to the Thai Hermès store, and ended up purchasing both Anémone and Rouge Piment single tour. They are marked as shipped and have since been removed from the Thai online store.

What a saga! Yeesh.
