Not trying to copy Bona above. I'm going with my own version of Rouge today.

It's been a while since I was on the forum but my interest was peaked again since I need a black leather band and I recall someone on the forum mentioning the box calf as being pretty unique and durable. I found this one on eBay but the Hermes logo on the buckle appears to be etched and not stamped. Is this an indication of a fake, or perhaps they did etch on some of the earlier strap buckles? Any advice would be appreciated, and pardon if this topic was already discussed.

I’m sorry but I would not spend 250 on a band in that state. I would rather save up for a few months to get a new one or keep watching eBay For new listings. They do come up but patience is key.

I also don’t know if i would pay 400+ for some of the black bands in Japan.

I can’t comment on authenticity but I don’t know if I have any that are stamped like that in my 40 band collection. That would also scare me away.

It looks real to me, the logo maybe because of different angle or light, but agree with others, not worth it (mine only cost about $70) and box leather is actually not durable, very easy to get scratches.

Anyone here visit an Hermes demo at Apple in 2016-2017? I'm being told an Apple Watch | Hermes demo mat exists in like an etain or etoupe color, looks just like the blue one I use as a lid for my 10 watch charging dock, but it's got "Apple Watch Hermes" stamped on the felt underside.

All I can find is this photo. The leather is way different from the Saddle Brown Apple started to use around this time. (Though, remember, most stores still used blue mats back then.)

I think it's the blue one 🤔 after adjusting color balance, it becomes blue, the other brown one is still brown.

I don’t think it is. I know Apple uses some soft lighting but even playing with sliders to turn it blue it looks off. Also mentioning the Hermes Orange looks way too blue to be accurate, so balancing the colors to turn that band more Hermes will show the real color of the mat.

Here’s my saddle brown and midnight blue mats side by side, the one i posted about looks nothing like either one.

I actually think that’s it in that top photo you posted with the red arrow. That one looks too dark to be Saddle. Here’s a better sample of the color - i can’t share the full pic unfortunately.

I’m considering the Hermes watch (my first) - if the sizes are larger this year, then my tired eyes won’t miss the Ultra screen size.

While I like a darker watch colour, I’ve got a feeling the Hermes bands I have will better suit the SS watch and not the black/grey one.

Any hints on which bands will match - I love the Orange Kilim so would love to keep that but also have Blue Kilim, Fauve Barenia and Orange Single Tour.

Hermes Orange, other than the sport band, is just too “Halloween” a look for me on SBSS. Fauve/gold is amazing and I wish i had some spare lugs to make that happen. Weirdly though Kraft/Orange looks best on SBSS?

Did this mock up on apple website, you didn’t mention which blue kilim you have, IMO
Celeste blue looks great with SBSS, orange looks good too, any dark color in Kilim will look good as long as the SS lugs don’t bother you. Personally they don’t bother me, and I

have series 9 Hermes SBSS,
And a Series 9 SS, so any band that doesn’t look good on SB, I can use on SS.

This Q is mainly for those who had always had the bigger Hermes since day 1 (2015)

Will you be getting the 45 or 49mm (if rumors are true)

I just opened my blue celeste, it looked nice in apple website, so I’m trying it on my SBSS.

I have a 165cm wrist and 45mm is the largest screen that works for me in a classic watch style.
I do have an ultra as well, but it’s a different look, more sporty and fun.

Oh I didn’t know that.

What about old 38/40/41mm band collectors for the smaller watch?
Yeah you pretty much have to keep those forever as they will all be discontinued. My Gf plans to hold onto her Hermes 41 for a long as possible if indeed this rumor is true.

I think it may be true bc ive seen a lot of reports and now Macrumors doesnt even call it a rumor anymore. They are saying to expect a 45/49mm watch.

I recently compared an original Hermes leather band to one I purchased from eBay. In addition to several other key differences, the most striking disparity is in the authenticity of the lugs and screws. Upon close inspection with an iPhone's camera, the differences between the genuine and counterfeit components are quite evident.
1. Top (Original Hermes Lug and Screw):
Screw:
The screw is seated within a precisely machined circular recess, featuring evenly spaced fine, well-defined concentric grooves. The screw head is cleanly shaped with crisp edges and a well-centered Star pattern.
Lug: The lug has a smooth, polished matte finish with no visible imperfections, resulting in a sleek and refined overall design.
2. Bottom (Fake Lug and Screw):
Screw:
The screw is placed in a recessed area but lacks the well-defined circular recess seen in the original. The surrounding area appears rough and poorly formed, with noticeable lack of attention to detail. The screw head is misshapen, lacking the cleanly defined circular recess and featuring a poorly executed star pattern.
Lug: The lug has a shiny yet unpolished finish, with clear surface imperfections. The overall design looks rough and unattractive, drawing attention for all the wrong reasons.

For reference, the second and third pictures display the lugs and screws from the three original Hermes leather bands side by side.

To BreathNow,
Aside from the lugs and screws, what were the other signs that it was a fake? Reason I ask is I’ve never seen an EBay listing with photos as sharp as yours detailing the lug, at best it the lug shows “made for Apple Watch”. Was it stitching, the Hermes imprint, the band markings? That’s what most eBay listing photos consist of.
I research the sellers as best as I can, but sometimes an honest seller could have a fake and not know it.

So if the watch bands are all the same size from now on, presumably Hermes are going to have to make their straps fit smaller wrists?

I’m thinking if rumors are true, we’re looking at a massive redesign with a curved bracelet-like design and magnetic lugs. Only way it makes sense.

Otherwise everyone is getting massive watches. No thanks.

I’ve always assumed this seller has access to the EPP discount, looks like he has a gray Kilim he doesn’t realize is a proto?

Almost wanna splurge but would feel dumb if it drops retail next week
