What technique did you use and how long did it take?

Not that familiar with polishing, had a tin of Cape Cod cloths and attempted using one of those as I recall hearing someone fully polished a link bracelet that way. After 20 minutes with barely any progress I gave up on that and cut small discs out of the cape cod cloth and attached them to a handheld precision rotary tool that I have and managed to get the entire thing done in about 20 minutes, with most of that time taken up by swapping out discs.

There must ABSOLUTELY exist a better way but I’ve already done it and didn’t need to acquire anything else to do so. It came out great and I’ll resort to hand polishing with cape cod cloths for future touch-ups.

I had some deep scratches on my S7 that I removed with 1500 grit sandpaper > 2000 > 2500 > 3000 > dremel + cotton attachment + metal polish > cape cod pads > jewelry polishing cloths

Polished the sides of my silver link bracelet to match the new link bracelets (and the old SBSS option) and to also better match the polished silver case of the Hermès S10, with great results!

Very Nicely Done. It looks terrific.

I did a similar thing with my SS band, but I did the full band.

Looks great. I suspected the new link bracelets had polished sides but I wasn‘t sure until I saw them in person.

You may have given me a new project.

A while ago I had a jeweler in LA modify a Breitling mesh band that I had for the Apple Watch. I think it looks great with the Series 10. Not everyone's cup of tea but I like it a lot.

That actually looks fantastic! I would 100% buy this over any of the current metal band offerings, if apple sold this. I have the Omega milanese band for my mechanical watch which I love, it reminds me of it. Thanks for sharing!

I knew on at least a larger scale that polishing belts exist and the basics of all that so I knew my idea would at least work but may have to get some cotton attachments for the future.

Another Grand H unboxing in Spanish.

He spent a lot of time talking and didn’t show of much of the watch / band itself

Doesn’t look like he took any links off. He got the 42mm and got the small size band. That means it’s 130mm for sizing in what he’s wearing.

Said it’s very heavy and luxury feeling due to the heft.

Last useful tidbit is that he said putting it on can be difficult.

I think he also misspoke and said the band was titanium but I was only halfway paying attention and Spanish is a second language for me.

They currently have older 45mm stock but are selling new 46mm stock as well so it should be 46mm if configured with a 46mm watch. Options like Orange, Noir, Gold, etc. are staples that—unlike seasonal drops—will stick around and get refreshed when necessary.

The mechanism looks similar to the link bracelet and other Swiss watch link bands.

Maybe he’s not as familiar with those watches - Unlike the other YouTuber who compared it to his Rolex 🤣

Size S for 42mm is 130-145mm. So if he didn’t take links off it would mean he’s on the larger end? So 145mm

Is anyone else annoyed at the way he pronounces Hermes??

That's how I pronounce it. How do you pronounce it? Do you pretend you're French?

Edit: Ok, he pronounced it normally at the start, but as the video goes on he starts putting on a French accent and I see what you mean. I find people who do that hilarious.

Yes. And I do not pretend to be anything. I just thought his pronunciation was just a little but odd….

Yeah, probably 145mm. Which is surprising because I would say his wrist looks like mine but I measure at 167mm.

Probably too unrealistic to judge others wrist size off a video though.

Sorry confused - isn't 45mm and 46mm bands the same? Just like 44MM and original 42MM was?
PS my Series 10 46mm arrives tomorrow, guess I will be selling my s7!

From what I have seen in this thread, the 45mm stainless parts are narrower than the 46mm body. So the 45mm band in inset on a 46mm, and the 46mm is too wide for a 45mm. It sticks out noticeably on the edges.

Confused 45/46 with 41/42. 42mm sticks out on a 41mm

i found this too. i got a 41mm etoupe leather band with my 42 watch. the difference really isn't noticeable and because they're selling the staples, you can get a 41 with 42 or 45 with 46. I'd imagine if you buy say a kilim from Apple, they will for sure sell the exact size. Just my guess.

Ah, directly from Hermès is different; they often update the listings of every old band on their site with the latest size despite not being accurate. Can usually decipher if a band they sell hasn’t been updated with new hardware if the Watch in the product photos is an older model. In the situation with the 46mm Orange Kilim, I wouldn’t be able to guarantee that Hermès would ship the newer one with it.

Apple doesn’t work like that.
