I'm probably in the minority with this one, but I think Hiro is annoying as well as the introduction of quirky speedy girl.

I'd much rather the darker overtones of the other characters. Everytime they pan to the aforementioned, I'm just like UGH!

Yeah, doesn't seem up to season 1 quality. Oh well... hopefully it won't turn into The 4400

I REMEMBER THAT SHOW!

it started so well, then it spiraled into insanity and stupidity.

as for the heroes premier, evertything was shocking.
i personally think that they changed mohinder's character very much. and the "crying girl" is maya. and they had a very odd experience, especially with that wierd stuff on his back afterwards.

and the fact that matt parkman is in africa with the guy who knew his name was really odd.

if you read the "interactive novels" that they have on the nbc heroes site, you learn alot of the backstory of some of the characters and less defined scenes.

and the fact that present peter is trapped in the body of one of the previous level 5 detainees is something that cant be overlooked. and the fact that mrs. Petrelli is the new leader to the company is going to make this season very interesting....

(excuse my grammatical errors and inconsistent train of thought)

How dare you leave out Kaito Nakamura's tape from his will, and Parkman and the turtle?!? Those two incidents alone were better than the slop they tried to pass off as 'jokes' from the Emmys! (and I didn't watch the Emmys, either!)

BL.

Yeah I was in a hurry, I left a few things out, but hit the highlights...

That was great when Matt thought the Turtle was talking to him. :)

A little comic relief.

Isn't Micah still living with the Grandmother / Cousin (Monica) in New Orleans? It's odd they introduced Monica and Nana Dawson (don't be impressed I looked it up on Wikipedia ;) ), but didn't develop the characters any further?

With two members of the Original Star Trek series, how could you go wrong? LOL

I forgot this tidbit, but Niki was still in the building when it blew up. You never saw if she lived or not. Now this character appears this season.

i watched the first two shows and i'm glad heroes is back. i was happy and a bit concerned about the first episode. but first, i'll get to your comments.

I really agree. I know the second season was nowhere near as good as the first one and that was due to the writer's strike. Hopefully, now that there are writers and stuff, we'll see the best drama/serial/superhero show ever made.

i think season 2 wasn't doing well, even without the strike. i think it was better off that it got cut short. hopefully this season is longer.

Claire is visited by Sylar and he takes her powers. He also tells her that she is special and can never die. We finally find out that he looks at their brains to get the powers. Pretty funny scene where she asks if he's going to eat it and he replies "That's disgusting"...

few things i want to note on that. first, how did sylar take away claire's ability to feel pain? is it some plot to have her as part of her gang? second, claire is too whimpy for someone that can't die. i hope she toughens up this season and fights instead of being emo and running away. third, why did sylar remove all the brains from the other people?

Maya asks Mohindar to help her. He has a Eureka moment and figures out that the pituitary gland generates the enzyme that causes the Heroes to be special. He is able to extract it from Maya and ultimately injects himself. He now has super strength, but its obvious that it's not right by the second episode.

i'm leaning towards more of a lizard bit (the spiderman villain).

Nikki is back with a new personality and is discovered by a reporter digging up the dirt. She freezes him (that's new) and he dies. She's an assistant / sleeping with the governor of NY and looking to recruit Nathan to the Senate? Not really sure if she knows who she really is or not. Hint's of her old personality seemed to creep in there when she killed the reporter.

i heard someone suggest that she's the real jessica that was supposedly killed. other than that, no clue.

The big surprise comes when Nathan's mother tells Sylar (now captured) that she is his mother.

i was a bit surprised, but wasn't completely caught off guard; i heard theories that this was possible.

Hiro was given half of a formula left to him by his father. He tells him to never open the safe that it is stored in, but curiosity gets the best of him and he opens it to see what's inside. A young woman with super speed snatches it and is impervious to his time stopping abilities. They chase her to get the formula back (Hiro and Ando). At one point Hiro goes into the future to see if the missing Formula has any affect and sees Ando killing him (Hiro) in the future.

i think this will be important later on, but kaito did mention that only the light can fix the world in chaos. i think that will be claire. and talking about that, i think claire may develop some more symptoms of sylar, like eventually not talking.

i would like to know what happened to them as well...

another thing is that i think warrants debate...why is the evil guys fire blue, while claire's mom has a red one? i think it could be claire's mom has some issues she needs to deal with, and the bad guy is calm inside.

but here are my thoughts on the episode. i thought the storytelling was good, but i'm concerned about the increased level of graphic violence compared to the first two seasons. usually, that indicates that the writers are either low on ideas or a cry for ratings boost. i sure hope this isn't a sign that the show is going to the toilet.

Maybe the villian burns hotter than claire's mom?

i think so as well, but the idea of why it was blue is from another show i was watching (avatar), where azula, daughter of the main antagonist and herself being somewhat of a nut, produced blue flames unlike all of the other firebenders on the show that was always red-orange flames. azula was a firebending prodigy, always calm and wasn't wrestling with herself like her brother was, which i think is the reason her fire burns blue.

i'm thinking the same or similar concept applies here. i'm thinking that merdith has some issues inside of her she needs to deal with, and our new villain (flint) does not.

and one more thing, i want to see an actual fight this season.

How about just using plain old proven science? Like with Bunsen burners, blue fire is hotter than yellow/red fire because of a much more complete burning of fuel and using oxygen.. As far as what the 'fuel' is, your guess is as good as mine..

DISCLAIMER: I'm going off a 20 year old memory here. Science was one of my worst subjects.

One thing though - I didn't like Suresh getting powers. He was the most stable character on the show and seems too important, what with his narration role too. He's the story teller in a way. He's the catalyst for other folks events. Not Superman.

Also, I asked this during the first series but do we know what Noah's power is yet? I think it's clear he's going to be given one or has had one from the start (like that alchemy/glasses guy).

Noah inherently has Claire's powers, as after Mohinder shot him in the eye (ouch!), he gave Noah a transfusion of Claire's blood.

Ah of course, silly me for forgetting
After seeing that bout of ninja action he gave his 'boss' in that photocopy shop I always figured his powers were combat and/or superstrength.

i always figured that he had no powers and is the show's batman in a way, just well skilled and trained and smart.

I'm kind of pissed Mohinder has a power now too, I really liked that all he ever had was his science and a gun. However, I really hope that Noah doesn't get a power and that he remains "normal"; like someone said, he's the shows Batman; his only powers are how skilled he is at normal person things, like fighting. I can't wait to see what happens later on in the season though, especially with the escaped villains and the invisible Linderman. What's up with that, anyway? He must be alive, seeing as he healed Nathan, but why can't anyone see him? When I saw it, I was thinking (CAUTION: SPOILER FOR VARIOUS MOVIES) "Wow, that's just like in the Sixth Sense when you find out Bruce Willis is a ghost, or when in Fight Club you find out Tyler is not real (or when you find out John Nash's roommate in A Beautiful Mind is a figment of his imagination). Super cool.

This is kinda what I don't know, and is up for major speculation. Did Linderman heal Nathan, or did Nathan heal himself? He had done it once before in the 2nd season, and I want to say Claire's blood was involved then too..

Well, no, that's not what happened. It was Adam Monroe's blood that healed Nathan and I always thought that was just a one time thing. I could be wrong though. Who knows.

why did sylar remove all the brains from the other people?

I don't think he took their brains, just removed the top of the skull.

During Suresh's little narrative, he mentions a beast with the body of a lion headed toward Bethlehem??? (Jerusalem???). At the end, we see him pulling his skin off, which would seem more lizard like, but maybe this is some sort of transformation in an X-Men sort of way.

Is this headed toward a biblical ending where they are scattered, starting with Matt in Africa, heading toward the birthplace of Christianity?

The brains were removed, but he might have done that so noone else would get the power. But since the power resides in the adrenal glands... then Claire's body would still have adrenaline in it to prevent her from dying (enough to grow her brain back after removal). I liked how Sylar's stealing powers relates to his first ability (though I don't know why he's still telekinetic and lost the other powers, he should only have his clockmaker's power).

This season did intro some plot holes I admit, but it is getting interesting. And I do hate that the cast is so big and spread out over the USA/World.

I thought season 1 was great, season 2 was awful, and I stopped watching it midway. I will not watch it again!

I found season three is starting off better than season 2 but way below season 1. The thing I don't like is how they are changing EVERY CHARACTER and they are doing things that are illogical. I'll give it a few more episodes but I think I'm done with Heroes.

well, im no expert, but i dont think linderman was the one who cured nathan. linderman was just a figment of nathan's imagination. linderman is dead at this point. i actually think that future peter may have healed nathan. he might have absorbed future claires power.
im not exactly sure either though.

i do want to know what you guys think about nikki, i mean, tracy strauss?
is it another manifested alter ego of nikki or what?

That Jesse guy that is "really dangerous" can produce destructive sound waves. You can see that when you pause the video when Noah and claire are going through the escapees on the computer.

I wonder if Noah has a power? because only people with powers seem to work for the company.

Also What is up with Claire? I believe that she will get extra powers, because she asks Peter to help her to use her powers to protect her. And when Sylar is going through her brain he tells her that she is unlike anybody else and there is so much about herself that she doesn't understand.

And what is the go with the dream that Angela has when Claire gets her head cut off and all that... Because Sylar comes up behind her and puts his hand on her shoulder, but not a "I'm going to kill you" kind of shoulder grab, but a kind of "I'm here to help" Shoulder grab (lol that sounds ridiculous). But Her and Sylar are standing opposite the other bad people, kinda like us V's them, so maybe Sylar turns kinda good after finding out that Angela is his mom?

Ah I love heroes if you couldn't tell!

we talked about noah's status a few posts ago. and you don't have to have powers to work for the company, watch company man from season one. a flashback in that episode states that they team up normal people with powered people in 'bag and tag' missions, among other shady things.

Also What is up with Claire? I believe that she will get extra powers, because she asks Peter to help her to use her powers to protect her. And when Sylar is going through her brain he tells her that she is unlike anybody else and there is so much about herself that she doesn't understand.

i think claire needs to stop being emo and actually start fighting with weapons and doing dangerous stunts to help people. she can't die, why do you need protection? it's time she helped herself. and anyway, i don't expect her to get any extra powers, that goes against the show's philosophy of 'one power'. what i think it means is that she is going to end up saving the world again as that light to stop the formula.

And what is the go with the dream that Angela has when Claire gets her head cut off and all that... Because Sylar comes up behind her and puts his hand on her shoulder, but not a "I'm going to kill you" kind of shoulder grab, but a kind of "I'm here to help" Shoulder grab (lol that sounds ridiculous). good luck on that (sylar turning good). i think angela is very shady, along with most people in that company of hers. and sylar's a nut, of course he's going to have crazy looks. i think there are going to be two factions of bad guys here, the company and everyone else.

Well, I just saw the episode from tonight. Damn, but that was good. I can't wait for next week; the promo where is was showing a "new part of Sylar" and he hugged Peter was hilarious. "If I had known you were coming, I would have made extra!" Only thing; Hiro and Ando in Level 5? So annoying, shouldn't the company know who they are? I mean, Kaito was part of the company for years.
