=D West Branch has an awesome outlet mall thingy! I've actually only been to West Branch once on my drive up north though, it was SO HARD to find a book store D= I was sad and just had to keep going north for a while =(

It's pretty off of 75 though ='D

I'm liking that blue, it looks like a really happy color if that makes any sense at all =\

Actually West Branch is right off 75 ;). And I don't know why everyone loves that outlet mall LOL. All of my family (cousins, aunts, etc) love it but I get sick of it.

Okay, just got back from IKEA. I got a lot of nice stuff, but the main thing is the flooring. I ended up on the oak color because it worked best with our molding. I got some wall shelves, and other accessories, but I will save those until the end ;). Anyways I did attempt to use the shopping carts LOL I almost killed a 4 year old because the flooring was making it go out of control, but nobody was hurt in the end :p

Picture 1: My seat on the way home LOL. More then once did a rug hit my face..
Picture 2: Acclimating flooring. 48 hours 'til installation.
Picture 3: Seeing how it looks
Picture 4: With paint color

Edit: I cant believe how non-grey the walls are looking on the iPhone! they are indeed very very grey IRL.

Oh no, I meant West Branch looks nice when you're passing it on 75. It's a sign of life before everything disappears, and we get a lot of trees.

The floor looks pretty good =) So much stuff!

I'd paint the window trim and molding white to make the room look more contemporary

Edit: Prior to putting the floor down because you can make mistakes and not worry about getting paint on your new floor

good idea about the molding, it actually looks really good in that little rendition :) I just dont know if my parents will fly for it because our entire house is the same molding.

Well, today I spray painted the frame to my glass desk. It went from cheap green/silverish looking metal to high gloss black. IMHO it looks 1,000,000 times better :)

Photo 1: previous color
Photo 2: New color!
Photo 3: Supports drying.

Tomorrow we are ripping out carpet, and on Thursday we are starting floor installation bright and early!

I really hate to do a triple post. I was going to wait until the next post to post this but nobody was posting  Maybe after it gets bumped up Mods can combine?

Anyways yesterday went fairly smoothly. Carpet came up okay, carpet pad came up okay, but the staples were another story. I would say it took 40 minutes for the carpet/pad, but another 1 1/2 hours to walk around with pliers/flat head screwdriver pulling up staples. No pictures with the carpet out though. Sorry!

Today we woke up and laid down the underlayment. I really was surprised how long it took to get perfect! Even then, as we laid the floor our work got screwed up again . We started in the dormer window, and it went fine until we got to where the walls go out on both sides. Luckily we are left with a pretty small gap that will either be filled with a sliver of flooring at the end, or some quarter-round :p. It took about 3 hours to get "out" of the dormer window, but once we got the air vent covered we flew to where it is currently in about 2 hours. We should finish tomorrow and put in all of the quarter-round on Saturday. That means furniture move in soon!!

Sorry of all of the rambling. Here are some pics.

1st: finished floor
2nd: Remaining space

Looks like a fun project, i love building Ikea stuff by myself.

Hahah, your addition of "by myself" made me laugh for some reason. :D

I've been replacing my bedroom furniture with Ikea stuff, so I've been doing a lot of building by myself. :p

Yeah, a certain tv stand was the only thing that made my jaw drop when I went to put it together. That thing had more hardware than Home Depot.

It ended successfully though, lol.

Its funny how that goes. One of the hardest things I built was a 3 drawer dresser, while one of the easiest was a huge 4x4 cube wall shelf.

Nope, just lay (and in our case, cover up imperfections with molding ;)) and you are done. They are laminate so they are technically just a piece of particle board with a picture of a dead tree on it :D Sad in some ways but the price/durability of laminate more than makes up for it haha.

I am underestimating this floor! Looks like we will have one day left.. I wish I could just finish it on my own but my dad was getting too tired to finish. We won't have a full day tomorrow though, thats for sure. (hopefully! :p)

1st pic: Finished floor
2nd & 3rd: remaining space.
