How are we enjoying iOS 11 GM on iPad Pros?

Love it on my 12.9 gen 2,

Feels smoother than the Betas, even the latest one. Like they removed some debug crap or something

And I like the new gradient/wallpaper and classic apple logo color gradient ones too

In fact, wont get to enjoy iOS 11 on any other devices any time soon, my iPhones must be jailbroken

And my 9.7 pro is staying on 10.2 as well
 
I weakened and installed it on my 2017 non pro 128GB iPad last night. I absolutely love it! Flicking on the on screen keyboard for numbs and symbols works a treat. Dock and multitasking works exactly as advertised. Just posted a screenshot, crop and marked up photo in another thread. Battery life has been fantastic this morning, only lost 1% on a mornings light work, browsing and music playback.

Upgraded directly from vanilla 10.3.3 then removed the beta profile afterwards so I can get back on the regular releases as they arrive.

Excellent work Apple, I’m very impressed.

I'm on the verge of doing it, because when it releases, I'll be at the dorms, and I don't think it has a great internet Plus, people show screenshots of it that it doesn't have any beta tag on the update section. It just plain says iOS 11.

Edit: Just checked. I'm extremely tempted right now

No beta tags here either in Software Update or About. Whilst it would be irresponsible to advocate anyone updating their OS with what is still pre-final released code, I’m ecstatic with the functionality and performance on my 2017 iPad coming from 10.3.3. YMMV. If you have any concerns about possible battery life impact or the machine is the daily driver that eithe earns or helps earn your living or you absolutely reply on, wait until next week. Otherwise....

So far so good. I’m still trying to get used to the Dock. Also, something is bugging me. I can’t open an app as a Slide Over, if it’s not on the Dock. It’s a bit annoying. But I’m sure I can get over with. I’ll share my further impressions later

Quick Update: iPad’s have W1 headphone pairing now!

Aside from a few minor animation stutters here and there it’s very good on my iPad Pro 10.5. I’m not getting the “home button lag” others are describing.

Though as an iPad user since the beginning all the new good are gonna take some getting used too. Loving the keyboard so far. Huge improvement. Many other little things are much quicker which offset some of the animation skips. I’m sure a lot will get ironed out over the coming weeks.

I know I must be the “only” person in the world, but I don’t like iOS 11 (yet). I just downloaded the GM on my first gen 12.9. Yes, it looks great. It also runs really smooth. However, I don’t really understand the doc. Why do I need certain apps showing in the doc and still showing on the iPad screen at the same time? I don’t need them both.

Also, side by side no longer works on one of my main study apps. I’m sure that will update soon.

For the record, I personally HATE the new design of Apples podcast app.

I’m sure I’ll adjust. I guess I need to watch some tutorials.

Update… I just noticed that the second app in the doc is in the resently used section.

The dock ? Easy access to flip between apps, shows most recently used ones if you have a lot that can be handy, reminds me of macOS just in general

I really like it :D

It’s not perfect but I wish they had incorporated something like this long ago,

Slightly off topic Apple smart keyboard is excellent for home use.

1 slight spill of tea today -keys continue to type flawless, unlike previous 3rd party bluetooth keyboards.

Tech progress -smart controller in daily use!

My SE is staying on 10.2 jailbroken indefinitely, but how has performance been coming from iOS 10?

I have the 2017 12.9 Pro and it's running very buggy for me. I can't seem to split view certain apps outside of native ones, and can't five finger close apps either. I keep on turning the iPad off and on hoping to reset the OS but we'll see....
 
Updated my gen 1 12.9 yesterday. I was surprised that it was available for public beta folks. I’m pretty used to it now, I love it. Only wish the floating app would always leave the main app active like the documentation says but it doesn’t. My usual use case is Safari as the main app, Twitter as the second app, and Mail floating.

It imparts no real functionality. You could keep your most frequently apps on you first ipad page. You like because it echos macOs. Fine, but its window dressing.

Hold an app on the home screen with one hand and use your other hand to bring up the multitasking screen, then drag it to the app you want to slide over with. If I’m understanding what you want to do correctly!

You can just disable recent apps in the settings if you don’t like it.

I am on iPad Pro 12,9 1st Gen. Can‘t have 3 active „windows/apps“.

I thought you could have 3 active ones... ?

2 snapped side by side and another floated over. When yu gesturento float the third, float it over the dividing line between the two snapped apps, lest the app you’re trying to float get snapped itself and replace one of the first two.

So this is normal... 2 side by side apps are grayed out when 3rd app is floating over?
