This is the age-old technology conundrum. In 2022, you will be asking the same question about 2023. At some point, you just have to realize that technology changes fairly rapidly and if you keep waiting for the "best time" to buy, you'll never buy anything. Technology is not going to just stagnate for 3 years so you can feel like you have the latest and greatest for a longer time. My question would be, "Is this iPad Pro a significant enough improvement over my current iPad Pro to justify the cost for me?" In your case, the extra screen real estate alone would make it worth it to me.

It’s unlikely they will make major changes in 2022. They didn’t really change much between the 2018 iPad Pro and the 2020, just the cameras mostly. They “might“ make an XDR version of the 11”.

I think there’s only a small chance we won’t be seeing new Pros in 2022. If they had waited until the second half of this year to release this year’s refresh, maybe they would’ve skipped next year, but they tend to only allow a 12-18 month gap between releases. Probably new ones the second half of next year, but not as major as this refresh. I do agree that we’ll likely see the XDR on the 11” next year. Not really sure what else.

OLED, smaller bezels, and longer battery life are the features I really want hardware wise.

That’s not what I meant. And my poor communication skills are to blame. I’m saying this is hard to top. And it’s a solid 2-3 year iPad Pro.
I think by now we should know they already have one or two generations ahead working through the process. What does this mean? You will see a new iPad next year, and then a new Pro later same year or following year. And it will "blow" this one out of the water, for some people. I don't get what the big hype for this release is, but hey if you have the money go for it.

I upgraded from the 10.5 to the 2020 11 pro because I got the Airpods and wanted spatial audio, that was my reason which to others it may be silly but for me it was a reason to upgrade.

Apple is not Microsoft. Imagine the amount of corners that would have to be cut!
corners cut? where? Apple can make the same size and weight (just the better aspect ratio) with 10 hours battery life easily
PS I am not talking of a laptop, just of the tablet part

They would have to make the device even thinner and sacrifice certain components in order to have the same weight in a much bigger size. Many people can't even hold a 15" tablet anyways.

I don't see a reason to make it thinner. They don't need to sacrifice anything. M1 SOC is much more compact than x86 boards and much more efficient so they could absolutely make a 10 hours device at 800gr without cutting any corners....
Those that cannot hold 800gr (same weight as surface pro) are not the target for a 15in iPad pro.

No way. Mini-LED over OLED any day. And Apple agrees with me :p

So, as mentioned - I really hope that Mini-Led is here to stay till we get microLED.

OLED is just crap tech with too many flaws

Well, I hope so. OLED over Mini-LED any day of the week.

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A WIDE SCREEN FORMAT, INSTEAD OF THE OLD 1980 SQUARE TV. AND HOW ABOUT THE IPAD PRO 14’.... WITH 16:10 ASPECT RATIO.... I USE THE IPAD PRETTY MUCH FOR VIEWING... NO ART,NO DEVELOPMENT....
TURN OFF ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION ON YOUR AIRPODS -
