I am on the MacOS Catalina beta and I can't figure out how to install the iOS 13 beta. I have downloaded the file, but iTunes is gone and has been replaced with Music. Music shows the phone but has no buttons....don't know what to do.

Check Files app.

Try looking in the Finder, thats where they mentioned all device mgmt would be handled now.

Yup. Apple on their high horse again telling people how to use their phones. I’ve been installing betas on my devices for years and years. I know the risk involved and there’s always a way to restore back to normal if issues arise.

But this year looks different. Apple now wants full control over who does what. I was already convinced to go back to Android for my phone purposes but was intrigued with the show today especially for iPadOS.

Now they want you to have the beta MacOS and the beta Xcode to install iOS? What a joke.

You don't know the reasons or motives, just ranting because you're angry that Apple isn't doing what YOU want them to do.

Probably either aren’t up yet or Apple is cutting down on non/developer installs.
Trying to increase Mac sales. Lol!

hum for me I don't understand how to do, I have a developer account, I'm on Catalina beta , I have Xcode beta + ipsw ;(

I think its just because they know OTA profiles is shared too easily. But I'm sure a non-developper can still install the full IPSW if he found one without any registration.

iTunes claims it's usual verification with Apple's servers, so you may or may not have to have your UDID registered. It could be not really checked but probably don't want to install the beta if not a Developer just incase and they start blocking non-registered UDID's.

As long as you can get your hands on Xcode 11 beta and the iOS 13 ipsw file you should be able to do it easily via iTunes.... both are very easy to find... google is your friend

If your UDID is not registered, it will be blocked and your phone will become useless.

Install IOS 13.

1. Install Mac OS 10.15
2. Plug in iPhone or iPad
3. Click on device in the finder
4. Click on backup
5. Download the correct image file from the developer site
6. Option click check for update
7. Select the downloaded image file

So no updates OTA?

Has to go through iTunes every time?

I'm confused. Where are the Profiles??

The only way to install is through iTunes...

Relax. The initial beta and subsequent betas are being restricted by Apple because of the amount of bugs on these builds. OTA will resume after public seed in July. Normally, public seed for major iOS will wait till beta 3-4. By that time, initial bugs should be fixed for wider deployment.

There are workaround to install on Windows 10, just finished doing so as well, and it isn't too complicated either.

The thing is, it’s not really that buggy on my iPad Pro 11, sure there song hang ups but very rare, and just going back to home screen solves it no need for restart or anything, basically its like hour typical android with occasional hiccups hehe, i just use my ipad for recreation so its definitely worth it putting the ipadOS for a test drive. Been using it since yesterday works great and love the new features, used a usb c hub with card reader and the files app recognized all contents and from there you can transfer to any available apps you have. The resized floating keyboard is what surprised me since i find it a very nifty feature as i could type using just one hand.
Installed mine via mbp on catalina, fresh install. Just use the finder and look for your device there

If Apple really want, they can block all non-developer Apple ID from activating the device and force Apple ID login during initial setup. No one knows if Apple will do that during iOS 13 beta, but people should really quit this beta train ASAP if they really don’t have compelling reason to try it out other than wanting to use new features.

As of now, installing macOS 10.15 is the easiest way to install iOS 13 beta 1 and you can try out new macos during the process. But be prepared to DFU when things go south.

Everybody knows the risk by this time i think, even apple mentioned it... but on a personal level, just saying its not buggy at all, of course dont do it if you need it for work or anything urgent, but if your ipad pro is just for tinkering and entertainment and minor productivity like checking email and browsing etc its very much useable, and the new features are definitely worth checking out. Just tried out mouse support on a bluetooth mouse and its really working as a regular mouse, finally its here that took a long while hehe
