^Also the 11” Pro does drop a few mm in thickness, so should help the overall volume.

So are the two angles the only viewing positions?

No more tucking away the keyboard behind the back for Netflix?

That's correct. I'm pretty bummed about the loss of the tri-pane portion of the previous keyboard cover. I liked having one device that functioned as a Smart Cover, a keyboard, and could be used in multiple orientations. The new keyboard folio, while it does look nice, will be a bit clumsy when it comes time to removing it. Will end up with a book cover to put aside when using the iPad without it.

24 minutes 11 seconds you get a full on of the "weird" keyboard on the back view

PS. Amazing amount of work went into the iPad review but I can not stand the way this reviewer talks

You know if the keys turn off, that’s not too bad then. I got the regular folio but I’m actually interested in this now.

It still feels really awkward to hold onto the keys (at least, it does on the Surface Pro).

Yeah that is something I’m thinking about. I don’t feel like it would be a big issue but will have try and see. Would of been better if it was like the old one, that’s for sure.

I must be in a minority... I hold my iPad from the bottom in landscape orientation, with my thumb along the bottom edge and a couple of fingers angled part way up the back (the “lower third” of the prior Smart Keyboard when folded behind) for support. In portrait mode, I hold that same edge (now on the left) in similar fashion (but with all four fingers providing back support). I shouldn’t have issues with Face ID or interference from the keyboard...

Keep in mind for right handers, the ledge will allow you to grab it without hitting keys.

Lefties like myself would be forced to either hold the iPad upside down or hold the keys.

Regardless of your dominant hand though, keys could potentially collect debris if the iPad is set down, and that could end up scratching the screen when you fold it back up again.

Needless to say, I now have a simple folio ordered! Coming Friday!
There is no more "upside down!"

Argh! This is making me think I need the folio and the Smart Keyboard....

So for at the office, I have a Smart Keyboard but will need something to prop up the iPad, which looks like a folio is an obvious purchase.

For on the move, the Smart Keyboard looks to make perfect sense.

Yeah the 11” is 3mm shorter and 4.3mm wider.
I still think it’d squeeze into the sleeve, it accommodates the iPad with Smart Keyboard attached comfortably. That’s bound to add more than 4.3mm to the width of the thing, well, maybe :D. But we’ll find out soon enough.

This is interesting... because I believe the screen "width" is still the same. Does that mean that each side bezel is ~2.1mm wider?

I suppose there’s a chance that they could be. Of course at this point we don’t know how much of a factor the chassis is. Obviously the chassis, for want of a better word, is wider and taller than the actual glass it houses. So I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. Fortunately, it’s a matter of hours now rather than days before we find out.
