Seeing as most of us are getting brand new shiny phones tomorrow. I figured it would be neat to compare everyone’s battery health in the device that’s getting replaced. So What is everyone’s current battery health? As in maximum capacity percentage found in settings.

Just list your current iPhone type, how long you’ve had it and your Maximum Battery Percentage.

I’ll start.

iPhone 10s Max
Age: 1 year(preordered at launch last year)
Maximum Battery Percentage: 91%

My xs max from launch date was 98% when i sold it

Ok ok!

I will go first!

iPhone 11 Pro Max Midnight Green 256GB. Received on 9/20/19 launch day.
Battery health = 100%

I try to keep it above 30% all the time. And I have only used the included 18W fast charger once. I charge with 5 watts overnight, or wirelessly 10 watts.

I have the sppace grey of your version but I will continue to charge the way I did for my XS MAX. My max was at 98% when I sold it and I had it from launch date. This year I will take the same approach.

Keep it between 40-85% charge
don't use in direct sunlight or hot places
don't ever wireless charge
I will use a 5w charger
stick to apple only usb cords
don't game while charging
let the battery drop to 0% once a month

iPhone 8+. Wireless charging every night. Battery health at 90%. Though the funny thing is that the percentage decreased steadily over the first year, then stagnated at 90% over the second. Make of it what you will.

I will stick to most of these rules with my pro, but as im a heavy user surely as long as the cycle count is high the % health is going to be low anyways?
Time will tell, my X was on 85% after 2 years (around 1050 cycles) and I didn't know there was rules to keep a healthy battery. So I would charge it once the battery dropped to around 5-10%

I have my 11 pro max from the 20th and I am charging up to 85% the max on the phone and letting it drop to 40% before charging again. Lucky for me, It takes more than 24 hours to get to 40% lol. I am using 45% a day when at work but I will see how it is when I am home. I think I will use way less because I do be watching television and other stuff at home to keep me off my phone

My original iPhone SE, the battery failed within a year after installing iOS 12. Warranty replacement fine throughout the iOS 12 cycle but now showing the exact same symptoms of battery failure after installing iOS 13. Hmm 🤔

iPhone 10s Max

iPhone 8 Plus
Age: close to 10 months (bought late December 2018)
Current Battery Health: 92%

88% X from May 2018, charged with 18w Blitzwolf and 7.5w wireless chargers. From what I remember it took a while to reach 95%, then dropped down to 88% a lot quicker. Sometimes it gets heavy use where I go from full charge to red in one go.

Xr one year old. 97% Charged with Apple 5w and 10w adapters (about 75% of time with 10w one).
Usually not under 30%but charging to 100%...

the replacement battery for my iphone 6S+ has been worse than the original - i had to get it replaced because of random shutdowns but it seems to be that the new battery doesnt last as long as the original.. they probably has the same mAh, but i need to charge my phone daily, literally, althought im not using it almost at all.. when using it the software (ios) says that brightness is consuming the battery, but the brightness is almost on the ”zero level”.... i quess they replaced original batteries with second hand ones when they offered them cheaper - also offered a cheap quality...
I couldn't agree more. I am at the point of wondering if I should jump ship to Android but I am told by friends that battery life on those can be just as bad.

8+ is back to 100% battery health after a battery swap. Funny story here - the apple store attempted a battery swap and failed (whatever that meant), and ended up offering me a brand new 8+ for the same price, which I accepted.

Now we can truly see the impact of iOS 13 on battery life.

Iphone 7, about 3 years old, battery health at 85%. I'll be hanging onto it as it still works like brand new and has great RF. May need a new battery in another year or so. Plus, bonus, none of the new gesturing required which I find annoying. Also, prefer the fingerprint sensor over face unlock. Love the real buttons as well.

There is NO standard comparison on Battery Health as everyone uses their iPhone for different things and people charge their iPhones multiple times a day or every other day etc. too many variables too get a true comparison

iPhone 6S: battery changed one year ago - 93%
iphone SE: battery changed 9 months ago - 99%
iPhone XR: bought one month ago - 100%
iPhone 11 Pro: two weeks ago - 100%

my previous iPhone XS bought on September 2018 was at 94%

I’m impressed about the tiny battery of the SE, bought in 2017. I replaced the battery on last January, under the apple replacement program at a discounted price and it was at 86% after one year and half of usage. The new one is keeping almost 100% for such a long time. Same usage and habits.
